Hello!

My AOS interview is this friday at 8am in california and I feel so unprepared! I've made the binder with all the necessary documents but I don't have much evidence besides our marriage certificate, joint tax return, a few loan statements and mail with the same addresses, and tons of pictures. We don't have any wedding pictures because we had civil ceremony, none of our families were there besides my mom because it was short notice and his family is hundreds of miles away. We also didn't live with eachother from October to December of last year (right after we got married) because he already paid for the dormitory fees and school fees. We did however live together the following semester near our college campus in January (my dad paid for the apartment and bills so only my name was on the bills and contract) and we've been living together since then. He has a part time job and I'm currently looking for one (I'm finally an registered nurse! yay!) so we don't have any assets, insurance, etc with shared names! I asked a few of our friends and his brother to do an affidavit but it looks like only his brother will come in time for the interview.

Will any of this be a problem? No wedding pictures and lack of documents (we're both young, living at my parents place, and still looking for a solid job with benefits!) ???

Does anyone else know of a similar case?

I cant speak from experience but I will say just be honest. SOme people on here have adjusted having lived in Seperate places from their spouses for a while. It happens. Just be honest. Can you get letters from any family members to state that they are aware that you are married? Maybe get a letter from your parents to state that you are living with them (both of you) and they are helping you in this new marriage. People live with their parents all the time when newly married in certain cultures. I think they want to make sure you are a genuine couple. Young and broke seems genuine enough to me (Smile please jk)

Im sure others will contribute but in the meantime try a search of the site with those wordings.

Do you both have Driver's Licenses or at least State IDs? They should reflect the same address. Get a joint membership somewhere (costco, video store, etc.). Are you listed as an emergency contact with his employer or school registration? include that. Have your parents write a letter verifying that the two of you are married and live together in the same household with them. If you can, get it notarized (bank managers and UPS stores are often Notaries).

Good luck.
