Hi! How long does it take from start to finish for a GC holder to petiton a daughter under 21 yrs old(she is 16 yrs old now) from the Philippines? I looked at the visa bulletin and it states there that they are processing the 2a visa Jan 2010. What does this mean? Like they are processing that has a priority date of Jan 2010? Thank you !

Hi kokobearus i dont know if this helps, i have a friend who petition her parents and her parents are now co worker s of mine, they got here 2007 after they got thier GC they petition their kids, thier duahgter was 12 yrs old then and thier son is over 21, after 3 yrs of waiting finally their daughter is here now she arrived here last week and about thier son they still waiting for the medical and interview. So i think it takes 3 yrs for under 21 yrs old

wow that's great news. I thought it's more of a 6 years waiting.Thank you for the reply. My mom will be here in Dec and we will file petition for my little sister. Hope she'll be here before she turns 21.

It will take 9-12 months for them to get to the USA... IN december my mom will petition for mt brother (14 y/o)

i have the question regarding kid over 21. you said he is waiting for the interview? so does it mean it would take about 4 years for kids over 21 when GC holder applies for them?

Changes all the time... look here for family category 2B.... looks like it is about 5.5 years currently

HEy if you look at my timeline/signature... my mom and dad will have their interview come 11.1.10 They will be here about say dec. 12 and then they will submit the application for my brother...

I just wanted to share with you what I just found out. The petitioner can submit the paper work using the stamp in the passsport as proof of permanent residency. No neeed to await the actual green card. Doing so will shave say 3-5 weeks off your wait offf your submital date.
