Has this happened to anyone else before? My husband just messaged me stating that we received our interview appointment for our AOS but we haven't even received our EAD yet. We only submitted the application less than two months ago. So I'm wondering if I should take this as a sign that something is wrong or a good sign that they're just cranking us through the system quickly.

Also, if we do get our AOS before we even get our EAD do we need to request a cancellation on the EAD?

I have just sent mine off last week but this sounds like a good thing moving quickly for you. I would not try and cancel EAD at all. Just let it flow.

The EAD and AP are meant to be sort of stop-gap measures if the AOS takes too long. Sounds like you're going through fast and won't need these half-way documents to get you through. Will be nice to not have to worry about immigration for 1 year, 9 months, huh!

its not uncommon actually.. happened to me. I got the interview before i got the actual ead. like the above poster said, its generally a good thing.. means ur case is moving along quickly.. my whole process took just under three months.

This happened to Astrid. I believe she got a "denied" letter for the EAD, and actually received the AP.. I think. She asked the same kinda qn when it happened to her.

Either way nothing to stress about. :) Just get all your ducks in a row for the interview and good luck!

As for cranking your through the system, appears that way :) By the the time the interview rolls around it'll be about 3 months since you applied so that's within normal processing time :) Mine took 77 days :)

Same thing happened to me too. I received the interview appointment letter on Oct. 9 and got my ead approval notice 12 days later. So there is not nothing to worry about, i am sure you'll get your ead approval in a few days..

As far as I know, getting an appointment for your interview quickly is a GOOD thing. I got my EAD and AP 2 months after applying. About a week after that I had my appointment for the interview. And now that I got approved my EAD and AP are no longer valid. So I only had them for about a month or so.

If you haven't received them by the date of your interview yet, just tell them. That is not something you can control, but I don't think a cancellation in needed. You just can't use them if you've been approved for permanent residency.

You'll have to wait for your green card at that point. Which I was told, arrives quickly nowadays. I'm waiting myself :)

Good luck !!!
