What does this NVC AVR message means?

Hi All,

OK, so I have mailed AOS (2 weeks ago)and DS-230 forms (1 week ago) to NVC. Today I was checking the AVR and I'm getting the following message:

The NVC is waiting the return of the biographic form from the petitioner, once this packet is received, allow 6 to 8 weeks for reviewing of all your documentations and you will be notified for the outcome of the review

Anyone know what does this mean?

  • 04/04/2010: I-130 received (Priority Date)
  • 04/15/2010: I-130 Hard copy received in mail
  • 08/26/?2010: I-130 Approved (Confirmed by phone)

NVC AVR system sucks! Mine says (since the beginning) our case not found in the system :devil:

Whenever I talk to the operator, I am getting the response that "Don't worry about it, we'll have everything in order" :star:

Your message is - they received the package and review in progress. 6 to 8 weeks is the standard reponse. Normally, it should be done in 2 to 4 weeks time after both packages are received.

Your message is - they received the package and review in progress. 6 to 8 weeks is the standard reponse. Normally, it should be done in 2 to 4 weeks time after both packages are received.

Can't wait to catch up with the NVC train and get all those confusing messages and deal with the unsorted system :D

Every time when I talk to the operator, I would say "I am really sorry to bother you, but your AVR system is panicking me" :-) "What's the current and up to date status of our NVC case?" Then they will dig it and answer very politely.

Like Loto said the AVR will screw you up on whats really going on. I got the same message as you and it has now changed to "We have reviewed the packet of information received and have found information missing and have sent a letter." This means they don't have the DS-230 even though they do. It takes 6-8 weeks for them to open mail sometimes as the CSR told me.

They are waiting something from Petitioner....I am wondering what that can be...

Please call them between 6:00 PM - 7:30PM, you have a better chance of getting a person.

Deep,

I called them this morning. Lady said it could take up to 4-6 weeks for them to receive the package, enter into the system and then Review it. She didn't even confirm if they received the package yet, even though USPS delivery shows that AOS package was delivered on October 12th and DS-230 was delivered on October 20th.

So I guess I'm just gonna sit tight and wait till end of this week before calling again.

It means they're waiting for the DS-230, you already sent it, but it has not been entered into the system yet. Give it about 1 or 2 more weeks.
