Please don't misunderstand my question here, I'm just trying to understand....

It sounds like somehow over that last 2 years you've been able to:

Fly to Morocco twice.

Pay for K-1 process up to and including Visa Interview at the USEM which includes I-129F Filing Fee, Medical Exam and Visa Application Fee.

Pay for CR-1 process up to current situation which is I-130 Filing Fee and Affidavit Of Support Fee.

That sounds like there is some room for putting some cash aside.

Is there anything in your current budget that you could cut back on?

About your disability, is it a case were if you generate ANY income you will lose it? I know a few people who supplement their income by a couple hundred a month selling stuff on the internet or doing odd jobs here and there for people who just don't have the time for their own errands.

Again don't misunderstand me, just trying to throw out some thoughts...

Use your Spouse's assets?

Sorry...meant to add on to Bob's post. I don't have sympathy for this person if they found a way to go to Morroco and couldn't save up $800, PLUS this person has been asking for a co sponsor for months...no way to find a way to scrape together that amount???

It seems so disheartening that you're so close, yet somehow cannot make up the shortfall. Try to figure out if you have assets adding up to $2400...it's really not a lot of money. There is plenty of work a disabled person can do..even one that is house bound...ebay, for one. But I'm guessing somehow you're not totally housebound if you found a way to go to Morocco?

For those who are getting disappointed that no one will cosponsor: Asking someone to cosponsor is a VERY big deal, and puts that person on the hook for an exceptionally long time....40 quarters of work, which if the foreign SO doesn't steadily work, could take more than just the 'standard' 10 years. Sure, there's the chance of naturalization, or God forbid death of the foreign spouse, and also you're off the hook if the spouse goes home. But at the end of the day, and I'm not saying anyone's case is specifically with a scammer...think about what you're asking someone if you've met your spouse once or twice, he or she comes from a high fraud consulate, etc. There are so many stories on here in the Effects forum where the petitioner's been blindsided, and more often than not, the question in there is 'how do I revoke my i864?' Short answer: short of any of the scenarios above, you can't. Sure there is the 'what are the chances he or she will qualify for benefits?' but at the end of the day, realize that asking someone to co-sponsor is a very big deal, and not to be entered into lightly.

However, if you have no financial support system with relatives, ask yourself how you will be able to provide for your spouse.

How to do this?

If the petitioner didn't meet the last two years but meets the recent year, is this ok? If there is $2,400 in savings, it is okay also?

If your income increase is properly documented then it shouldn't be a problem especially if it's because you finished school and started working full time.

The $2,400 amount is specific to this OP because her shortfall is $800 so she needs that times 3 to cover it (800 * 3 = 2,400).
