So it turns out we cannot locate the NOA2 letter I received during the K-1 process. I know I sent it to my fiancee along with all the other documents in the duplicate package for her visa interview. According to her, they kept it at the embassy in Manila.

How important is that letter to the AoS process? Clearly they awarded the visa as she has that, so what should we do? What can we do?

Ouch...the ideal situation is you always retain the original and send the Embassy only photocopy of the I-129F NOA2.

You need only a photocopy of the I-129F NOA2 to include in your AOS package...any chance you have one lying around?

Because if not the painful alternative is to file an I-824 Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition; this application allows you to request for a duplicate of the I-129F NOA2...but for the stiff price of $340. I suggest you keep looking for a photocopy.

Yuck! What the heck, it was the USCIS that sent the NOA2 to me in the first place, shouldn't THEY know that?

I shall scour the remaining documents for it. $340 for a photocopy is criminal.

From what I understand, it's not a photocopy, but a duplicate of the original document, printed on their standard form...still I have no idea why that warrants $340.

Found this link in case finding even a photocopy is not possible: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/256531-never-received-noa1-or-noa2-in-the-mail/page__view__findpost__p__3938789

Hope it works for you...apparently for this member, they used this combination of proof and were approved for AOS without an RFE. (Though their case was slightly different because they NEVER received an NOA2).

Did you sign up for any e-mail updates from USCIS during the process?
