Per an appointment letter, my husband had his biometrics taken on Friday, Aug. 18.

On Saturday, he received another biometrics appointment letter (same as the other one) with an appointment date for THIS Friday, Aug. 25.

:help:

We feel certain that this is just an administrative error, but when he called the USCIS information line, was told - well, she actually wouldn't tell him anything or give him any kind of advice. She just said he needed to show up there for his biometrics ... even though he told her that he had already had it done.

He really doesn't want to have a second set of biometrics taken for fear everything will really get confusing, but he doesn't want to ignore it, either. More importantly, he doesn't want to have to return to our local ACS and wait another hour and a half before he can receive some clarification on the issue.

What do y'all think we should do?

Thank you!

Denise

Denise,

At our ACS, there is a guard working at the front door who collects your ID and letter. Do you guys have something similar? IOW, is there someone he can speak with before waiting an hour and a half?

Alternately, can your DH make an InfoPass appointment for this week and go ask someone?

I'd hesitate to say 'just ignore it', but it does certainly sound like a goof up.

Denise:

Just a thought, but perhaps either his fingerprints or photo didn't "take" properly and they need another try?. You'd think someone could explain this though, if it WERE the case.

Very strange.

Well, we decided to pop into the Charleston office yesterday - without an appointment - on the way in to work. We walked in, my husband went directly to the Fingerprinting reception desk (the girl there remembered him)(that's because he's so d*** handsome) (L) , showed them both notices and they said not to worry about it. (4 days earlier he had his biometrics AND photograph taken there.)

Just to be on the safe side, however, we've sent a letter to TSC via certified mail with an explanation on what happened, and enclosed both copies of the appointment notice.

I would say we're covered.

Annatenna, that's a possibility, but the second appointment notice (with a different date/time) was sent on the same day that the first one was!

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. It's always good to be able to bounce these things off others who understand.
