Greetings,

I am originally from outside the EU, currently living in the UK with Tier 1 visa (a type of work permit for non european nationals). Although I am non UK citizen at the moment, I can apply for UK citizenship in three years.

But as my company (I registered it in the uk last year) has been growing fast, I am considering moving to the US for new business needs in about 2-3 years if possible.

So my questions is:

Could I apply for L1 visa in the UK or should I do this back in my home country if I apply before I get UK citizenship and only have a UK work permit (although I am managing director of the my company registered in the UK)?

Would it do me good if I wait till I get a UK citizenship and then apply for L1 visa?

Many thanks for your attention and help!
