Hi guys!

Well, we got RFE and here is what they ask for:

The sponsor or joint sponsor ( if required) on Form I-864 Affidavit of Support must submit the following:

*W-2s, 1099s, and/or all schedules submitted to the IRS - a copy of his/her Federal income tax return was submitted and/or the sponsor or joint sponsor requested an extension to file his or her Federal income tax return.

*Federal income tax returns for the most recent tax year or certified IRS copies ( and later they explain how to obtain these)

*Evidence of current employment or self-employment including a letter from each employer on business stationery, showing date of employment, type of work performed, number of hours worked per week, and salary or wages paid. If you are self-employed, submit a recently dated letter on business leterhead or a business license.

I understand what evidences I need to submit but need to make sure if I need to fill a new I-864 with that?

What makes me mad is that we already sent everything they ask us for! My I-864 ( sponsor) with tax return for 2005 and letter from employer also my Mom's ( co-sponsor) I-864, copy of her birth certificate and tax return for 2005! It looks like they lost it.....................

She should have some proof of income to substantiate the 1040. If you call the IRS you can get a free transcript of her return in which case you might not need the w-2.

Anyone can fill out a tax form and send it to USCIS so it is good to have proof of your income.

Thank you Damulag for your input, but i still wonder about this whole RFE, because my income meets the poverty guidelines and we have a co-sponsor just to be on a safe side.

My mom will order transcript of her return tomorrow so we have 2 weeks to find out if we need to submit new I-864's again. Probably won't hurt if we do so.

Thank you again :)

I made above the poverty guidelines as well but they did ask send us an RFE. I re- did the I- 864 (new form) and this time added my husband onto it now that he is working, along with a copy of his EAD, paystubbs, and a letter from his job. I also sent in the co- sponsor stuff. I probably gave more than I needed, but I didn't want to waste time with another RFE. Good luck!

See my timeline for all previous dates!
