Does anyone know the difference between an EAD with an expiration date of 1 year and 2 year? Thank you.

EAD card is the same; normally they base the expiration date on either the validity of the I-94 (the expiry depends on the length of a work contract or visa type...K3/K4 gets 2 years, K1/K2 gets 90 days) or they peg it at two years for people with an I-485 pending, waiting to receive their GC. When you have a GC, it supercedes the EAD.

So even though someone has a visa number - k1 and an i-485 pending, they get one year?

I dont think you understand my question. I have been here for 3 months, this is my first EAD and it has a 1 year Expiration. Will I have to reapply next year regardless of my GC? Thanks
