I haven't gotten that far in the process yet, but I'd recommend checking out the Example Forms section of VJ.

I don't see a place for my fiance to sign her signature on the DS-157. Is that normal?

If the process is anything like the one in Brazil, DS-157 is to be signed by the beneficiary at the consulate. Check the packet the beneficiary gets from the consulate for instructions about it.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Huh? So you don't need to sign it? I don't see a place to put the signature.

If there's nowhere to sign it, don't. The reason why I said it shouldn't - I hastened when I replied to your post and didn't actually look at it - is that all forms that come in packet 4 (in Brazil, at least), have to be signed by the beneficiary at the interview so that the conof can see it.

Ok I understand that she will sign it at the consulate BUT, WHERE do you sign it? There is no place for signature anywhere on the DS-157.

Can someone who has actually been through the interview process answer this? Thank you.

Do not worry about signing the DS-157. Just fill it out and send it with the other forms.

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
