K-1 visas, coming in to NVC from an I-129F petition,

have 'little' interfacing with NVC, unlike the I-130 petition.

Dodi's posted 'how to call' and further down (ya, read it, please), I've posted 'what you can get' and from 'which office' (NVC vs DoS)

Good Luck ! (please read, ya?)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

When your I-129F petition is approved by USCIS, then it gets transferred to the NVC to be assigned a case number before it is forwarded to the US Embassy where your fiance(e) will be interviewed and receive her visa.

People call the NVC to find out if they have been assigned a case number and to find out if their file has been sent to the US Embassy.

Depending on the procedures of US Embassy in the foreign fiance(e)'s home country, the petitioner or the beneficiary can plan on calling the Embassy to schedule an interview date without waiting for the Embassy to send them a letter (this is how Philippine applicants get a jump on the process...I understand though other countries have different processes, so this may not apply to you).

I know what nvc means , but .. yea we will wait nvc approval right ? they will send my fiance a LETTER for their APPROVAL right, I still wonder why a lot call them , Do we need to call them ? Why and What next after we call them , I really dont know what to do , I am so lost ............. :crying:

Thank you much !! I appreciated the time you spent here just to rescue my mind ;) I am from Philippines so I guess that applies to my situation ? I can schedule for an interview ahead before I get personally the interview letter once nvc already forwarded my papers to USEM ,?

It's not that simple. They will give you your case number, but NVC will not tell you when it will be sent. There is a way to predict it, through watching out for the DHL waybill. That process is described here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/216753-is-nvc-call-center-open-on-public-holidays/page__view__findpost__p__3287905

Once you figure out when your file has arrived at the USEM, you can start contacting them to try to schedule your interview without waiting for the letter...however, expect you won't be able to do it the first try. :) Took me at least 3 to 4 tries to get it done.

You may want to update your profile and timeline so other Filipino VJ members can be able to help you better.
