So if I go to the border of canada to get in on my work and travel visa, I will be asked questions like everyone else is... " how long are u staying?" and so on...

I am going to have a new passport with no B1/2 denial stamp in it. So if the canadian officer asks me if I ever got denied entrance to any country and I say NO... will he be able to see in his computer that in fact I did get denied entrance to the us ?

I already answered your question.

Hey everyone, I'm from Germany and tried to go to the us on a b2 visa. I flew to Seattle where i went through the immigration centre.

There I've been asked by an homeland security officer several question under oath, also if I ever smoked marijuana. I said yes I did, all in all three times in my life(the last time was not more than a week ago) (so it's not on a regular basis). Well since I wrote in my visa application that I've never tried marijuana they turned me down( visa got withdrawn) and sent me back to germany.

They also asked why I lied on my application! - I answered because I was afraid of not getting a visa.

Now I will aplly for a new visa. I will write in my application that I did smoke marijuana and when I have to explain why I lied on the application I will tell them because I was scared of not getting a visa.

Is there going to be a problem to get in this time ? (I have a clean record and no charges because of using drugs of any kind)

As far as I understood the officers it was not about that I've tried marijuana, but the fact that I lied about it in my application ... is this correct ?

I appreciate any help!

Hi, did your visa application really have that question? "Have you ever smoked marijuana?" I think it's a different question, like "Are you or have you ever been a drug abuser or addict?" When they asked you why you lied on your application I guess you had to say that you didn't lie because it's different to be a drug abuser and trying marijuana a couple of times. This may help you when you're explaining your situation in your new visa application.

Marijuana is considered a drug (illegal in the US) - and if you use it you abuse a drug so you have to check yes to that question. You will find a number of people on this forum who had to get WAIVERS and it took them years to get visa afterward for "a couple of times" as you term it.

Alcohol and Tobacco are also drugs.

My boyfriend had a somewhat similar situation in that he was caught lying at the POE and denied entry on a visa waiver. He had traveled to the US a few times in the past to visit me, and for some reason this time they interrogated him intensely and accused him of wanting to stay and get married. After hours of interrogation he admitted that he was thinking about getting married and stayin(we had no plans what so ever). They made him sign a form stating that he lied, and can no longer use the visa waiver. However, they did reassure him numerous times that he can come back on a fiance or spouse visa.

I think if you received any sort of ban, you would be aware of it, although I'm not 100% sure, it would make sense though. We're currently in the process for applying for the K1 visa, and I'm really hoping that he won't need a waiver.

my thoughts to you would be to talk to a few lawyers, get some consultations and see what their advice is. Sometimes they've had similar cases and can help you out. Don't focus too much on people in this forum telling you "NO" because this is a very specific case and very few people have experience with something like this. Don't necessarily rule out the US, purely from this forum. Good luck!

Lying at the border to get into the US is a very serious offense. OP: I would focus on what the people on this forum are stating because there are a lot of people with a lot of good advice and experience on here. And no offense JJ, but it seems like you don't have experience with the situation either as you haven't had your K-1 approved yet for all you know you will need a waiver as well.

I totally agree, my K1 hasn't been approved and even if it were, each case is different. My only advice was to speak with an immigration lawyer, because although people in this forum can give good advice and do have experience, most don't have any experience in a certain issue and just give their opinion.
