Hello VJRS,

I would like to ask is 1600 monthly income above 125% poverty guideline? Has anyone here got 221g after interview?

The 221g letter said we have one year to comply all missing documents? I have my interview last october 2010 and given 221g

221g letter to submit recent pay stubs since my fiance work is new and letter require me to submit it in window 17 and i will be able to comply all documents this december 2010,early than one year they gave me.But i am worried

because my affidavit of support that has been passed during my interview has expiration of october 2010 and also

my I-797 notice of action will expire in november 6 2010. will this automatically revalidate since they gave me one year to

comply?? Is anyone has been into this situation please help. Thank you VJRS and GOD will never forsake us..GOd is good all the time.

Oh dear :( My husband is in the USAF too and he's supporting 3 kids from his previous marriage. But his daughters are living with the ex-wife. Are they still counted in the number of household? If so, what is the limit for us then? I'm worried now.

@Ygr: That's what we thought too, but the exact words I got were: WE ARE NOT ACCOUNTANTS, WE WONT BE CALCULATING ANYTHING... :bonk: This Bulgarian lady was kinda rude and not really understanding all the info we had provided, so I think that's why we got the co-sponsor requirement.. Idk.. The consul lady was really nice and polite tho! :) She kept my passport and medical and said they are only waiting for the co-sponsor dox and they will send my passport to me! :)

@ChaseCallen: I think his kids are counted as dependents but not in the household.. I'm not sure on this to be honest.. But hey, my hubz is in the USAF since Aug 2009 so he basically has 1 year of 36k... and before that he was working part time and goin to college so... I hope you guyz don't get more headaches like we did!

Tank you guyz! :)

What really surprised me was that they didn't even look at WHY hubz is making the 36k... The lady just said active duty makes around 15k... And I told her - what about the BAS and BAH that he gets?? not to mention all the other benefits?? And yet again she was: NO, Co-sponsor, NOW! :D:P

@ChaseCallen: I'll ask hubz about the gross/net thingy cos I am not sure either.. If you're hubby has sufficient income from previous years, then you guyz should be good to go! :)

@ygr: you have to have big patience with the military hotline, hun... Not every operator we talked to was willing to help or knew what he/she was supposed to answer! Good luck to you too!

He's been in the USAF since Feb 2005, not sure if it's sufficient though. I think the pay is not that much, they are more on benefits. Hopefully everything will be okay for all of us. Thanks again Mrs. D! :)

I wondered about that too but since her husband just started working in August 2009, they need to know the previous employment record and see if he was receiving sufficient income. Mostly the embassy asks for the W2 and she had the interview this year so the latest W2 is 2009 which reflected a less suffiecient income since her husband just started having the fulltime job 5 months towards the end of the year. The W2 that will be release next year which reflects the salary for 2010 would have no problem at all!

Exactly what I was gonna say! Thank you! Tho we did provide past 3 years of tax info (W2s and tax transcripts), but it wasn't sufficient cos like I said - he was PT working and going to college...

@ygr: I know it says on multiple gov. sites that last year's tax info is sufficient AND our lawyer said it would be - the situations vary from USEM to USEM and from ppl to ppl... :)

Hopefully, with the Lords blessing, I'll be with hubz for our anniversary! Good luck!

see this post scared me S#%^less, because on our embassy's website, they mention they only require the last years tax return, which we have, however i have heard its normal for them to require 3 years prior, thats where our problem begins,SO wasnt eligible to file for taxes in 07

ive been wondering about whether or not we will have to get a cosponsor, but still, this post REALLY scared me and brought it up
