Hello everyone,

I need help please! my mother in law's interview has been setup in the US Consulate in Naples, ITALY. It was setup for June (middle of the high season) we pushed it back until September and me and my wife bought our tickets and booked our hotels to go with her to the interview. Long story short, she was not able to get her Schengen Visa (to get to ITALY) She is from IRAN. And since we had bought non refundable tickets and hotels, we ended up canceling our trip and lost a lot penalty money.. Anyway I need to push her interview for another month, but I can't take off any more time from work and my wife can't miss any more work days as well. So we are stuck here!

My mother in-law does not speak any English and in a place like Naples, you will need someone who knows their stuff. I am truly desperate; does anyone know somebody in Naples who can help us??

I am losing faith here!

Any help is appreciated

Thank you

Does she have a visa now.

Just wondering why you chose Naples.

Does she speak Italian? The embassy staff will be able to speak Italian.

Hi,

No She does not speak any italian. She only speaks Persian. WE did not choose Naples, the NVC choose this place, appreantly there are only 5 consulates that deal with Iranians. Naples, Vienna, Frankfurt, Ankara and Abu Dhabi.

The Ankara and Abu Dhabi are the bussiest consulates I guess.. I am jus so desperate I don't know what to do. If I ask them to move to the case to these consulates, who knows how much longer it will take.

So basically, you need someone who can get her from the airport, translate for her during her stay etc? Not for the actual embassy interview, as I would assume they have a translator there for her, though it might be worth double checking... Your best bet may be to ask the embassy if they know anyone- maybe their civilian translators would do it, for extra money, but not sure if they'd be allowed. Another option may to to search on google etc for tour companies/ travel agents in Italy that specialise in arranging tours for Iranians. Presumably, they'd have Persian speaking staff that may be wanting a side job for a few days.

Hmmm

Well I guess it would not be a nominated consulate if there was no one who could speak Farsi.

Going with a tour party seems a good idea but might be trick to coordinate. But a local Travel Agent might well be able to help. Is there an Iranian community in Naples?
