sounds like she wants to bring her husband over - she paid for an immigration lawyer, only to find out that they don't really handle immigration (after a year?). she wants to file for a K-3, but she wants a lawyer to do it. she's wondering how much a lwyer will cost and how long it will take with a lawyer to get the K-3 processed.

Ok im going to try to answer this and please im not trying to make fun of your English but it looks like your asking how to bring your husband here, and that you used the help of a visa consultant about a year ago and they kept your money with out filing the petition am i right so far?

from what i have seen k3 is not available anymore.....i want to ask did you ever receive anything from the visa service that you used? any kind of copy of receipt that the service center might have given them? did you fill out any documents and sign them for the petition?

I think you really need to find out for sure that there is not already a petition at a service center before moving forward with another one.

im sure someone else will come along with more advise but if it was me thats the first steps i would take

just my opinion and i really wish you good luck

Hello,

Are you an American citizen? If so, then you can file for the 1-130 petition if you are already married. You could hire a lawyer who specializes in immigration law, but I would usually recommend to people to do it on their own. In your case, however, the language of the forms and petitions may be too difficult to handle on your own. Perhaps you could find a lawyer who has an interpreter on staff to make sure that you can communicate well and get to ask your questions and hear answers.

Best wishes!

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

You just asked this question in another post and you received LOTS of feedback on your particular case. You even got responses from people who have filed their petitions on behalf of their Moroccan fiance(e)s, so they were writing from experience. Are you shopping around for answers until someone tells you what you want to hear?

After reading through this user's posts, have concluded that this is not the USC wife of a Moroccan, this is a Moroccan husband of a USC posting. Would suggest that the OP get his wife to come on VJ and look at the guides, because, and not to be rude, OP speaks terrible English and doesn't seem to understand replies here, because OP keeps posting the same question repeatedly.

The general consensus here on VJ is that a lawyer is unnecessary for a K1/K3/CR1 petition, unless you have a very complicated situation on your hands.

The only advantage of hiring a professional is that they can supposedly make sure you get all the forms and papers right, which makes for a smooth journey. But if you've got a good head on your shoulders, the guides here should do that for you, for free. Also, I've read plenty of horror stories right here in this forum about lawyers screwing up petitions and charging a lot of money for it. A lawyer cannot make USCIS work faster on your application, he/she can't speed up NVC and can't help you much for your interview.

So, unless your circumstances are truly extraordinary, I wouldn't spend my money on it. If you follow the guides, the example forms, the wealth of advice already given in topics, it should be smooth sailing.

Good luck! There are always people here ready to help if there's something specific.
