Nijabound, the link you posted is a VJ information page for the Lagos consulate, I believe mainly meant for K-1 applicants. I say that because there are items on there that CR-1/IR-1 applicants don't need to worry about, such as packet 3...we only get packet 4. The links I had in my previous post is from the Department of State, which I would presume to be pretty much up to date...there are too many people that rely on that information for it not to be accurate. I cannot tell what visa journey you were on as your timeline is not filled out (please do so as it very much helps others that follow behind you on this journey), but I noticed you are adjusting status (from a K-1 or CR-1, another visa?). If it is K-1, then I can see where your confusion lies, as the process for K-1 is very different than the CR1/IR1, and the Lagos Consulate DOES schedule the interview directly for K-1, but NOT CR-1/IR-1.

Yes, Aya...I believe that the VJ Lagos Consulate page is referencing only K1(fiance) visas and not the IR1/CR1 spousal visas. I actually got my answer from looking at some recent Nigeria IR1/CR1 timelines and see that it's about 2 to 2.5 months on avg to an interview from the time the NVC marks the case complete.

ok so i am a little bit confused here, i have seen in some peoples timeline stating that they get interview date the next month as soon as NVC completes your case and i was told by my lawyer that NVC Schedules one's interview? am i right? maybe i am reading people's timline wrong but so far a lot of them get thier interview the next month as soon as the case is completed PER NVC? mostly the CR1/IR1... am i wrong?

It depends on the consulate. Some do their own scheduling, like Dakar, and Lagos, apparently, and some don't.

I'd call the NVC and ask about the particular consulate you will be going through so you don't waste any time and know what to expect.

for Cr1 the timeline between case complete and interview at most is 2months cos i already file for my wife and my mother and both is around 6weeks to 7weeks so that within that period u can get ur medical done cos they will have to go twice for the medical like 3weeks interval
