I was married but then choose to move apart because of abusive partner.I had 3 police reports. I was married in good faith.After i moved my Gc will expired within months.I had to file by myself.By the time i filed my papers to immigration i still haven't filed my divorce.I sumbitted my papers under the " married to a U.S citizen but i was battered spouse" somethin like that. After a week i submitted my papers i got a notice that they extend my stay for 1 year.I had to proved them that i was married in good faith.I sumbitted letters from my friends showing them i was married in good faith... i gathered those to 3 people we know.But because i lso being abuse i had to sumbit my police reports, our pictures together, joint income tax and the bank account we joint.. The only thing i did not submit was the bills showing both our names.I had to wait for almost a year before i finally got a decission.I had to go for interview.Good thing i had my divorce paper that i filed.The officer asked me if we filed divore and i told him i did.So he asked me to show to him and they made a copies.I was being videotape when they interviewed me.I cried on my interview because they asked me like 20 questions and after that they showed me the questions they asked on a piece of paper and they let me read and sign.They wanna make sure they have written the answer i told them during my interview.After my interview i was devastated.I felt like there is something heavy things fell in my head.The officer told me they cannot make a decission because they have to review things.But after a long waiting i finally got approved.It was almost Christmas time when i got approved! I thanks God cuz i think it is a very big Christmas gift i received when i got my 10years green card :) I hope everyone there that have the same case as mine will get approved too.Wish you all the best
