Jken,

My interview is next month and thinking I'd be prepared, I shelled out the cash for my prepaid Xpresspost envelope in July! I'm also in New Brunswick and don't drive so I'd have to take the 4 hour bus ride to Moncton and then a 4 hour bus ride back! I'd love to know if I can still use my Xpresspost! Please let me know what you find out!!

will do - i will post! I only have 4 days off work in November -working all the extra hours i can before poe nov 31st...so more reasonable to do the express post...I'll be so happy when this is over! good luck!

Does anyone know why they keep your passport? Seems strange to me....

They keep your passport so they can affix the visa in it - it's kind of a foil paper that gets glued onto a page in your passport. They stamp it at POE with your date of entry to 'activate' the visa.

Can anyone tell me how you "pay" for the DHL? When we registered and booked the interview I only paid the visa fee. Is there an additional fee for the actual DHL shipping and if so how and when do you pay that?

edit- Nevermind . . . just read in the packet it says, "If your visa is approved, we will put your visa in your passport and send the completed visa packet and passport to you by DHL courier at no extra charge"

Yeah its like a extra bio page but cooler ha ha. Btw dont expect a large stamp when you cross at poe, I was expecting some kinda stamp that said Valid on such date or something. Instead it was just a tiny entry stamp with cr-1 hand written on the line. The same stamp you get as a travel entry. lol BUT Non the less it is a stamp that means you are a us resident..oh yeah

The P3 instructions say that you need to send your forms to the consulate via DHL as well. It also says that this is free of charge. Can anyone explain how this is supposed to work? Do they send you a DHL packing slip to print out and use?

Just wondering how to find your DHL reference number to track your package? My interview was today (approved! yay!) and would like to figure this out. Thanks!

Log onto the site you signed up with for dhl http://www.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/ss_country_welcome should say summary or account information such as your name date of birth and there should be a reference number. You can then use this number on www.dhl.ca in the track box for reference numbers or call one of these to track via phone

Calgary - 403.800.1194

Halifax - 902.982.2191

Montreal - 514.400.2591

Ottawa - 613.800.0917

Toronto - 647.955.3736

Vancouver - 604.800.2794

Quebec City - 418.800.1751

grats on your approval

No reference number there. Maybe it's too early? It also says 'no interview schedule' and lists the next available date. Is this because my interview is already done?

do you see your name and passport number? If you do, your reference ID will be directly to the right of your name. :)
