Just a bit of a ray of hope (maybe) for Canadians that have to file I-601.

I was just reading over on immigrate2us.net, specifically at Laurel Scott's chat log from earlier today and someone asked a question in regards to how long the waivers are taking to process. Laurel's answer was...

"The process for Canadians has sped up. It used to take over a year after the I-601 was filed, but they are moving along a bit better now. I have one case that has been pending over a year, but others made it through in a few months. The one that has been taking extra long ran into some administrative problems. You should do a consultation so we can determine whether the firm will take the case. We do offer to take the majority of the cases that consult with us. The two primary reasons we would decline the case are: person is not statutorily eligible for a waiver OR chances of success are so low I don't want the person to waste his/her money." Seems pretty promising for those that have to file waivers from Canada...
