Hi Folks,

I'm from Canada and been here 5 years ...applying for US Ciizenship...Here is my question:

On the N-400 It asks for total days out of the USA...

So I left say 04/19/10 and returned 04/20/10..an overnight trip.

Is that 1 day or 0? Someone told ne that since part of both days was in the USA it was O for Total Days Outside USA???Doesn't seem right more like 1..

What do you guys think? Appreciate your time...

Kev

The N-400 clearly reads just mention the Trips Lasted more then 24 Hours or more.....!!!

Hello,

Count from the day u left but not the day u returned. So.

05/06 to 5/07 (1 Day) If lasted 24 Hours.

03/04 to 3/05 (1 Day) If lasted 24 Hours.

01/09 to 1/13 (3 Day)

05/08 to 5/13 (4 Day)

04/05 to 4/09 (3 Day) 1+1=2+3=5+4=9+3=12

Or wait for better Answer, Good Luck.

Yes, the baby's lovely. :luv: But do you think you could condense your pics or remove some? Or leave your timeline in the timeline section. Your signature is huge.

Kev, you're stressing over a non-issue. Whether you add an additional day by accident or don't add an additional day by accident, it won't matter because it doesn't even come close to being absent for 2.5 years. All you do is count each 24 hour period as a day.

Same question as Kev.

I live in Bellingham and family and friends live in Vancouver. I must have over 150 trips in the last 5 years up there for either a couple of hours or a couple of days.

Do all of these have to be listed?

I can't remember half of the trips.

Can I ask for a list from the CBP officers at Blaine Crossing with all the dates and times? Is there another place to call or write to in order to get a record of my crossings to add to the N-400 form?

Any help appreciated

Yes, you have to list your trips outside the US lasting 24 hours or more. You're going to have to come up with your best guess on the dates. CBP isn't going to help you out there. As long as you've been in the US longer than you've been out it's not going to be a problem.
