Excited about this, but at the same time a little nervous. I know she will do fine, but of course there is a little apprehension. Wesubmitted the petition back in May, and did not have any hiccups along the way. No RFE's or any issues that needed to be addressed. It is exciting that tomorrow we should know. I cannot believe how fast the process has gone, and I am hopeful we will be together soon. Thanks to all of you for your help with setting me straight during this process. I cannot thank you all enough.

You'll be fine. Did you guys do a little rehearsing? Does she know about those 10 previous marriages or the 50 children or the magnitude of the horrific crimes you have committed? If so, then you're good to go. !!!!

Relax, soon you will so toast. (But happy and smiling!)

Just got text from Tanya, and she said she did not get the visa today. She only sent me a text which said the med exam was not good, and we will talk when she gets back home in 5 days. Also said not to worry about it. The medical exam was scheduled for yesterday, and she arrived yesterday, so I do not know what time she had the exam, so maybe she missed the exam, or it was not enough time to get the results of the tests. Maybe the exam was in the afternoon yesterday, and she could not get the results in time. Her interview was at 0800 Moscow time today.

What kind of medical screening do they actually do there? I imagine they take blood, and run tests, but I am not sure. Anyone ever have this happen to them? From her very minimal text messages it sounds like it was a problem with the medical. Would they let her interview even though the medical results were not in hand?

Chris, I don't have the answers to your questions, but I do hope, if anything, she just might have missed the medical.

Was she given a 221g form? If so, it will list what documents she needs to produce and send to the Embassy. Once they get the documents, then they will process the visa and send it to her via the prepaid DHL envelope she gave them.

If they kept her passport, then that is a very good sign. I've seen this "need this document" many times and never was there any future problem. I believe it takes two days for the medical, one day for the actual tests (yes physical exam and blood workup, nothing unusual that those folks don't go through on a regular basis) and then the next day to obtain the actual envelope. Hopefully she was able to obtain those and deliver them to the Embassy before she has to leave.

Don't buy any plane tickets yet but don't lose hope. Once she does get them the desired documents, give them a day or two and then you can email the Embassy directly asking for status.

Oh, and yes if they say no other concern with her case, they would go ahead with the interview because this document stuff happens all the time.

1. What kind of medical screening do they actually do there? I imagine they take blood, and run tests, but I am not sure.

2. Anyone ever have this happen to them? From her very minimal text messages it sounds like it was a problem with the medical.

3. Would they let her interview even though the medical results were not in hand?

1. Just a regular physical and they drew some blood.

2. We just went for medical in Moscow, at one of the Moscow medical offices it says you can get the results in pm if your appointment is in AM on the website but we could not get an appointment there. The other medical office we went to, takes two days to get results back. (we got stuck with the latter because of scheduling an appointment) Hopefully if that was the only issue , they will send results on for her, or send to her and she can send it in to Embassy to get it resolved without another trip back to Moscow.

3. They might have let her interview if she actually showed up and did not get discouraged that the medical went awry since she lives so far away. They were pretty cool with us letting us drop of some paperwork we needed to submit that normally would have had to be filed another day because of the travel involved.

good luck

Good luck

No, certainly not buying any plane tickets. That's rule number 1.

Unfortunately I do not know the details, but her text messages were calm, and told me not to worry, so I am going to stay calm, and not worry. LOL. I'm sure she is handling this. I just hope they let her interview today. the exam results can be sent to the embassy when they are available.

I have so little information about all this, that I cannot tell you all anything. I'll have to wait until I see her on webcam Monday. The worse thing I can do is speculate and wonder what is going on. It's out of my control and completely in her's so I will let her do her thing. I'll keep you all posted, and thanks for the ideas.

but her text messages were calm, and told me not to worry,

The first question to her after you tell her that you love her very much and sorry for the trouble I am causing should be, "Did they keep your passport?"

If yes, then all will be OK.

She is used to dealing with government paperwork and she'll handle this no problem.

Figure that within about three business days after they take receipt of whatever, they will process her visa. Then figure whatever for the shipping time to her and from there you can start thinking about fly dates.

Soon, your life will change !!!!

I wish I knew wh10 words on a text are not that helpful. I am hoping she had the interview, and they took her passport, but I do not know. I was going to text her to ask, but at the same time I am not sure if I want to know because then I will try to quarterback this whole thing from 7000 miles away. ha ha. I'd rather just talk to her when she comes back, and try to relax about all this. I imagine she knows what she has to do. She also has tomorrow to work on anything she needs as well. Hopefully the embassy is open tomorrow if she needs anything.

What would happen if she went to the interview, but they didn't take her passport? I would hate for her to go back to Moscow one more time. Also gets quite expensive as I am sure you are all very aware.
