Some questions on translating documents?

Im in the process of translating my fiances divorce and had some questions regarding the translation of stamps marked of the divorce document.

Do I need to translate the stamp or can I just put the word (stamp) where the stamp is placed on the document?

Or should I put something like (state stamp) or (court stamp)

Or should I just scan the stamp and paste it over the translated document.

Another question that arises is that im not 100% sure if I can translate this type of document (divorce) myself because I have only read of people translating birth certificates. The translation of a divorce decree is a bit more complicated but I can surly do it my self since I lived in both countries for several years and studied in both, therefor I am very fluent in both (Spanish and English)

You will submit a copy of the original language document on which the stamps will occure. That is good enough.

You seem to ask a second question & then answer it yourself. If you question your own ability take the translated document to someone that speaks both languages & ask them to review it.

I wasn't questioning my ability whether or not I can translate. My second question was based on if I can translate a divorce doc. myself and have immigration accept it. Reason I asked said question was because I have only read of people translating birth certificates but never divorce decree's. I was thinking that maybe immigration would want a professional certified translator for such document.

You are either qualified on not to do these translations. Type translations in the search block & you will find a link to the criteria. Immigration only requires people to be fluent to translate any document. The " certification " is your fluency statement. You can do this yourself; just include the translator statement.
