AOS after marriage (from B2 visa) routed to MSC... any experiences to share?

Does anyone have any more information on what happens once an AOS is sent to MSC? All the processing timelines seem to show only the Vermont, Nebraska, California and Texas service centers. Is MSC the step before it gets routed to one of those 4 or is it a "full service" service center that can approve greencards? When does it go to your local office?

For info, we only filed first week of October, got all NOA1s earlier this week, everything visible online under "initial review". We filed for AOS (485, 130, 131, 765 concurrently), I came in on a B2 visa.

I know it takes a long time to process applications, but more info from others who've gone through it would help. Thanks guys!

MSC is the National Benefits Center in Missouri (hence MSC, Missouri Service Center). It's where all I-485 applications go, regardless of which visa you are adjusting from. Their published average timeline is 4 months, but can be longer depending on circumstances. From what I understand, your I-765 and I-131 applications are routed to your local USCIS office (depending on what your zip code is), which is where you will undergo biometrics and get your picture taken...when it is routed, not sure anyone knows...but it is routed sometime after MSC receives your application.

Thanks for the quick reply!

So my local USCIS office isn't one of the four main service centers? What's different about the MSC compared to the other four main ones I see on most of the forums?

Does MSC continue to process the I-485 and I-130 while local office processes I-765 and I-131, did I understand you correctly?

No, your local USCIS office isn't one of the four service centers.

From what I gather, MSC processes all the applications mentioned. The petitions would either be sent to CSC for immediate approval and card production. Or, the petitions would be sent to your local USCIS office in preparation for an interview.

Just my understanding.

Sounds plausible :-) I'm hoping for a similar timeline as yours - we're also going to be working with the Seattle offices, so fingers crossed!

Oh, do you remember the interview? Any tips? What did they ask, what would you have changed?
