The CSC received 2,134 I-129Fs and only processed 971 (less than half of what it took in). Nothing left to say. The numbers say it all. :wow::help:

No I am not referring to August filers. I am referring to the sheer volume. They are receiving more petitions than they can process. Bottomline taking in double of what you are processing equals one long wait unless they increase manpower or employee hours.

that is interesting info.... I bet September will even be much less than August... one interesting thing is it looks like they got way behind last June 09 and then had a massive July 09 approving over 10,000. Hopefully after Aug and Sept, they will have another "catch up" month like that and we'll all get approved!

The CSC received 2,134 I-129Fs and only processed 971 (less than half of what it took in). Nothing left to say. The numbers say it all. :wow::help:

At risk of sounding like a USCIS/CSC apologist, I think a certain number of those petitions were "rejected" for not having the fee and other reasons but think they go in the stats because they do in fact take time to handle. There was also a big pile of who failed to complete the paperwork properly but didn't screw it up bad enough to fit the criteria of "reject" so they had to accept and issue RFE. Oh and don't forget about the pile of left over RFE debris from the previous month that had to be cleaned up.

oh, I imagine CSC also processes other types of applications.

USCIS is the largest immigration service in the world. We receive between six and eight million applications and petitions every year. On a daily basis, the 15,000 federal and contract employees of USCIS accomplish the following at our 250 offices worldwide:

*

Conduct 135,000 national security background checks

*

Capture 11,000 sets of fingerprints at 130 Application Support Centers

*

Receive 200,000 visitors to our web site

*

Welcome 3,200 new citizens

*

Answer phone inquiries from 41,000 callers to our toll-free customer service phone line

*

Welcome 3,300 new permanent residents

*

Process 30,000 applications for immigrant benefits

*

Adjudicate nearly 200 refugee applications from around the world

*

Answer questions from 12,000 customers at our 84 local offices

*

Help American parents adopt nearly 125 foreign-born orphans

*

Issue 7,000 Permanent Resident Cards (green cards)

*

Grant asylum to 40 individuals already in the United States

*

Naturalize 27 individuals serving in the United States military

The chart already addresses those that are pending so that already covers RFEs and other miscellaneous waits. As for all the other things they process, I am not interested in it. I am only interested in them aiming for a five month window and processing outside of that window. They need to work on staffing issues if they can't handle the volume OR provide partial refunds to those who have to wait months longer than others in the same category. Not to be insensitive BUT if they can't handle the volumes, then they need to change the fee schedule. Take off for X amount of dollars for each month they miss the mark.
