My fiancee the usc was here 4 months back and spent a whole month with me,to cut the long story short she is 3 months pregnant,am so happy when she informed me,my interview for k1 visa comes up middle of next month,i just want to seek your view about the whole thing if her pregnancy is a red flag for us? she is planning to send her doctors report, the scan picture of the formed babby for me to take along to interview but i felt we should not let them{embassy} know cos they might be of the opinion that we are married and we are not.

** moved from "K3 Visa Filing & Progress" to "Regional - Africa: Sub-Saharan" as this is likely more a country specific qn and is not a K3 topic **

It isn't a red-flag in many countries but if your culture frowns on out-of-wedlock intercourse it might be. It might also mean you need to show proof that your visit coincides with her conception. Hopefully someone from Nigeria can help you

I don't have any advice for the OP, but shouldn't this have been moved to the sub-Saharan Africa forum, where there are likely more readers going through Nigeria?

I'm sure someone with more knowledge will come pipe in but my look on it is it may not. I say that because since SHE is the USC there seems to be this thought out in the world that we are a loose bunch without many moral values when it comes to sex. If I were in the position you are in I'd definitely have her get her doctor to write a statement that indicates the possible date range of conception (which should coincide with her dates of being there with you). If she's possibly high risk I would have that noted as well.

Congratulations Poppa and many blessings to you all. :D

In Lagos eyes being pregnant is a non thing , it doesn't prove a bonafide relationship and it doesn't help your case. Unless you fiance is in extreme medical distress it doesn't help speed up your case ( if you get AP which is quite common) You can bring in an paper evidence of the pregnancy you wish , nothing electronic will be allowed. However congrats on the baby

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

my thoughts for you since your interview is coming soon, It is good to tell them the truth about the pregnancy of your fiancee despite that the USCIS and the US Consulate have no such infromation, but it may be keep your Visa onhold when they have further information that was not avaliable to USCIS at the time of your approval. I am not saying that they are going to deny your case but they may hold your case until your fiancee delivers your the Baby within 9 months to get the DNA test for Baby to certify that you are the father of the baby and request for further update from the Affidavit of Support to guarantee if you are qualify to receive a Visa or not since the new Baby has arrived and burden of proof of Affidavit of support must come from your Fiancee. Remember that both of you are not yet mariied, Please review your petition very well and answer your question correctly before the Consulars, Do not include what they did not ask you and do not include what they did not require from you , The interview process is always short and precise , The Consular just want to determine if your relationship with your foreign fiancee is bonafide and to evaluate it properly inorder to take a decision.

Well, I wish you the best of luck.

Remain Blessed.

Personally, I wouldn't provide any information that is not necessary. If the consular officer doesn't bring it up. I would not volunteer it. My reason being that if the person interviewing you was particularly difficult (looking for the most trivial reason to deny) it would give them a reason to delay a decision. I have heard of DNA testing before, but thought it was usually when the person who is not a US citizen is pregnant and applying for a visa.

My suggestion is when you go to your interview, have (1) a main package of evidence that you will submit and (2) a 2nd package that contains everything related to your baby, do not show them or discuss it unless specifically asked. A letter from her doctor showing the estimated date of conception matches her visit is an excellent suggestion to include in the package. I doubt they will ask. If you were a woman being interviewed and you were visibly pregnant I'm sure the question would come up, but as a man they have no reason to ask if your fiance is pregnant or not.

Review your evidence carefully, if you are submitting copies of all of your e-mails or chats any mention of baby and pregnancy might prompt them to ask questions. Which is why its a good idea bring your "baby evidence" just in case.

Dear NaijaLove,

I have the same situation. I am the petitioner and I am 4 months pregnant. I sent the I-129f package for my Nigerian fiance when I was 13 weeks (3 months and one week) pregnant. I felt that being honest with the USCIS is important from the very beginning, it is never a good idea to try to "hide" things because you could possibly get caught up or slip up in the interview and it could cost you everything. I included a letter stating that I am 13 weeks pregnant, and that my fiance is the father, and that we are very much looking forward to getting married in the states as soon as possible. I told them my due date, and I also included pictures from 2 different ultrasounds that confirm my pregnancy conception date and also confirm how far along I am. I believe if anything this goes even further above and beyond showing that we have a bona fide relationship, and is such a wonderful blessing as well.

Congratulations on the pregnancy!
