So I have been studying everything here and even so I am still at a loss. I have all the applications necessary to send out in order to bring my husband here but I really don't have that much evidence. I have our wedding photos, and other photos as well. I have text message records (but my cell is in my parents name don't know if that is a problem). We haven't really had an oportunity to co-mingle our bills or even live together since I am in the US and he is in Serbia.

I guess the question is what do I do? What can I give them as evidence of an ongoing marriage? The whole affidavit by friends sounds good but I dont even know where to have them start. I don't want to wait for another two weeks for friends and family from back home to write one and than to have it translated. My family didn't attend the wedding but have met him when they were in Serbia in 2009.

Add him in your auto insurance and show as married.

File the taxes together when the time comes.

Open a joint bank account if possible.

Visit him if possible, so passport will have those stamps.

Exchange some gifts and keep the receipts.

We didn't have anything Loto suggested.

We had pictures of our wedding, e-mails and cards that we sent, and our marriage licence. At this petitioning point, all you need to do is prove you are legally married. The auto insurance, the bank account, the taxes - we all took care of that after I entered the US. We were approved with no issues.

Good luck

PS - focus on primary evidence like passport stamps, bording passes, flight iteneraries, hotel receipts in serbia, etc

If it give you any solace, I didn't include any photos or proofs when filing for my wife. I didn't have any problem so far. I just included our marriage contract and certificate. This thing is not as daunting as it sounds especially if you are Serbian yourself and went to Serbia to get married. It's quite normal. Right? People need lots of proof when they are from two distinct culture and have met online on chatroom. I'm assuming that's not the case with you.

Don't worry about sending a lot of evidence with your initial petition. We had a few pictures (not even any from the wedding), a card we got from a friend and two affidavids. No problems whatsoever.

You'll have time to gather more things as you wait for approval anyway.

Like skype logs, or new phone bills, emails, maybe tickets from visiting each other. There are plenty options you just have to be creative. :)

It is not possible to co-mingle, if you live 8000 miles apart. Hence, you cannot send any evidence of that. You can only send what you have and you can only have what is possible. Why is that a problem?

If your parents met him in 2009 when they were in Serbia, perhaps you could include copies of the stamps from their passports and letters from them stating that fact.

You will be fine. Just include what you have and don't worry about it. They know that you cannot be living together or paying bills together yet. If you have any American family/friends who can quickly write an affidavit then you might want to get a couple of those. They just need to give their name, date and place of birth, and then write a short paragraph about how they know you and how they know of your relationship. Tell them to do it in 10 minutes. The affidavits we got were completely lame: "I'm J's brother and was at J&J's wedding" and weren't notarized, but they seemed to work.
