Hi All,

I have few questions about filling out DS-230 form:

1. If question does not apply should I enter N/A or leave it blank?

2. Question # 12 Present Occupation. Can I enter "House Wife" if wife is not working yet?

3. Question # 30 All places you lived since 16. Does it require full address or just city / State? Also, if you went away for schooling (hostel etc) do I need to enter that as well?

4. Question # 33 Education Instituation attended. Again is it just Name and City/State or full address?

Any other things to watch out for in order to avoid RFE?

Thanks,

Hi All,

Write N/A

2. Question # 12 Present Occupation. Can I enter "House Wife" if wife is not working yet?

Write Home Maker

3. Question # 30 All places you lived since 16. Does it require full address or just city / State? Also, if you went away for schooling (hostel etc) do I need to enter that as well?

Yes all the cities and places you have Lived for at least six months and if it was less then six months you dont have to mention, and write only the City not full aaddress.

4. Question # 33 Education Instituation attended. Again is it just Name and City/State or full address?

Just put School/College Name, city and course completed or Diploma and Degree

Any other things to watch out for in order to avoid RFE?

Make sure you put your current address very carefully which is Item 20, not to sign part-II, Question 25 about the visits to US if never been to US write Never.

Attaching a sample document for the reference.

Good Luck

Answer:

1. Dont leave it blank. Instead PUT N/A or instances where you dont know... just put UNKNOWN.

2. You can put housewife, that's a occupation. You can also put N/A if you would like.

3. City / Province

3a. IF the person lived there for 6 or more months then YES this must be noted.

4. Ques. #33 needs the Name and fulll address of the schools.

Any Questions that does not apply to your case put N/A so it doesnt seem as if it was over looked. be certain to ONLY sign page # 2 unless otherwise stated.

Nothing else I can think of .. others might have something to add.

DO NOT FORGET DOCUMENTS COVER SHEET YOU PRINTED FROM THE PAYMENT PORTAL

Just adding a cover letter for what all you are sending will be very helpful. If you need a cover letter format sample let me know.

Everything else looks good....!!!!...Good Luck...!!!
