What did you do with your cell phone

David is taking the train to Frankfurt for his interview and we know that he won't be able to bring a rucksack or cell phone in with him... He could leave his cell at home and use a public pay phone ($$) to tell me the results of the interview, but if he does bring his cell, does anyone have any suggestions for him as to where he can leave it? Does the Frankfurt train station have lockers for storage? Any other suggestions?? No one will be accompanying him to the Consulate.

Funny... the little things we obsess about now....

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Do they not permit a bag or cellphones in Frankfurt? In London they did. All bags were x-ray'd before entering the building. They didn't allow cameras in the waiting area - we had to check that with a guard in the lobby.

At worst I think he may have to check the bag before he enters the interview area. Consulates have business people entering them everyday - I can't imagine them not allowing bags on the premises.

jen,

I asked Enrico about this and he told me to tell David to leave his cell phone at home! He said that he forgot to take his out of his pocket and they made him walk back to his car and put it there. He said that they did have small compartments but they made him take it to the car anywayz! I don't know that if David was to take the train they would allow him to use the compartments but I wouldn't take the chance. He said they wouldn't allow any kind of electrical device period. He said that they weren't allowing any kind of bag either. Maybe a women's purse but I don't think that David carries one of those! :D Hope this helps! By the way, let me know when he gets that interview date!!

Thanks, Diana. That's what we understood as well... We'll have to find an alternative means of him communicating the interview results with me! I'll let you know when we have our date!

Cellphones are usually not allowed at Department of State offices. In Taiwan they specifically have storage bins for each visitor to put their cellphone in and they give you a tag for it.
