Hi VJ members.thank you all for your info.i met my wife through a friend online.she later visited me in Ghana and we started making arrangement for our wedding in the states.her family invited me to see them before our wedding but i was refused a visa.we later planed to get married and live in Ghana.we got married in oct.2009.she got pregnant a month after our wedding and she has to go back to the states because of her health implications. Her doctor asked her not to travel alone so i have to travel with her to the states and i was denied a visa again.so we made arrangements for her to go back to the states.

She filed for me and luckly the NVC approved it in May before she gave birth to a handsome baby boy in June.I have still not had an appointment and we hope and pray i get an appointment soon.

I want all VJ member who have been there and had some experience to tell me how long should i expect an appointment.what i should do for the medical test how the process goes and the right place to get the medical exams done.what should i expect should i expect on the day of the interview.? i want to know what to do and what not to do.I hope some one will be very kind and give me all the info.thank you all and God bless you all.[/size]

--USCitizen Spouse filed more paperwork to NVC ? (I-864, DS-230)

--YOU filled out and signed a DS-230, or not?

--YOU Sent in a DS-230 to your Spouse or NVC ?

Thanks in advance !

Yes,usembassy in Accra is severely backlogged.Judging by the recent trend of the happenings at the embassy and also by ur claims then, u should expect your interview from June,2011 as long as NVC completed ur case in May.However, ensure you wait for an interview instructions b4 making any plans or arrangement to have ur medicals done,Akai clinics at Osu is one at the approved medical centres in Ghana. You can reach them on:0302784772,I think it will cost u 380Ghc.All the best

Oh CrudlyPoodles.

I'm so sorry - I missed it.

Yer homed to Ghana - Accra.

That embassy is lagged, because of the Embassy's official notice (about 7 months ago)

to suspend further processing on Immigrant Visas.

Ya, yer case type is for an Immigrant Visa. I'm sorry.

You Must Wait

The best you can do, for now -

is

to ask your USCitizen Spouse, to

keep calling in, to NVC, about

once every two weeks, and

inquire about casefile status..

Yer waiting on 'interview scheduled' timetick.

Once the interview has been scheduled (usually 6 to 8 weeks forward)

then

get the medical done. Don't get the medical exam done prior -

wait for the notice from your USCitizen Spouse -

He/She will get an 'appointment letter email'

Once that comes in? Yer USCitizen Spouse can forward the email to you

and then

you can print it out,

and then go get the medical exam done.

Good Luck !!! Prepare to wait another 5 to 11 months, from today.

My dear brother, first I want to congratulate you on your new family. Unfortunately, as others have already stated the embassy in Ghana is severely behind in scheduling interviews for cr1's. Based on what you have said, your process closed at the NVC in May, 2010. Well, there are folks whose processes have closed as far back as September, 2009 who have not heard a word regarding a possible interview. The bad news is that you are behind them. The good news is that you are ahead of me - based on how things are going now, my husband probably won't see an interview until sometime in 2011. It is our understanding that part of the problem (I don't think it is the only reason) is that Ghana keeps getting awarded an extremely high number of diversity visas. At this time, you will have to wait patiently in line with everyone else. Many of us have written to everybody we could possibly think of with out any indication that anyone is looking into improving the situation. Sounds like you have a strong family unit - just know that all will be ok in time.

Staying strong and patient in love and faith!

You are in for a long wait. Ghana seems to be extremely understaffed. They get a lot of pre reserved DV lottery numbers like Nigeria does. Unfortunately they appear to lack the capacity to process all the visas they get. You must wait until your turn comes. In the mean time make sure you collect a file of evidences of your relationship. Regular postal cards are a good thing to do. Be sure to send them for special holidays and birthdays. If the post service likes to steal envelopes like they do in Nigeria send postcards.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
