Green Card holder, still have my old I-94

Hello everybody!

I haven't been overseas for 6 years (since I got here) and it's time for me to travel back home for the first time sometimes in November. I have my Green Card but I just remembered my very old I-94 is still with me, it was not taken away at the AOS interview. Do I need to return it or just leave things the way they are?

My N-400 Journey

06-02-2017 - N-400 package mailed to Dallas Lockbox

06-06-2017 - Credit card charged; received text and email confirming that application was received and NOA is on its way

06-10-2017 - Received NOA letter from NBC dated 06-05-2017

06-16-2017 - Received Biometrics Appointment Letter for 06-28-2017

01-19-2018 - Interview Letter sent

02-27-18 - Interview and Oath Ceremony. Finally US CITIZEN!

Hello everybody!

During our AOS interview, they did not ask for the I-94. I would just keep it safe in your records.

If ever USCIS asks for it, you have it. Otherwise, just leave things the way they are. Just my opinion.

That is a VERY good qn. Personally, I would hand it over when you get to the airport to leave. It's not like they can deny you entry because you never left the US oh so many years ago BUT I was reading a few forums about this (googled it for you :P) and everyone said to keep a copy of it for your own records lest it comes back to haunt you later.

If it was going to be an issue USCIS would probably tell us about it wouldn't they when they approve us without interview and thus are unable to remove it? Or request we mail the original, or hand it over if ever leaving... if anything it's proof you didn't leave and didn't abandon your AOS process.. i don't know.. I think I'll just keep mine because I changed my name and it's now in my "old" passport.

Thank you guys! :thumbs: I guess I'll choose to keep it for my records and when I leave I will have it in my passport just in case they ask for it.
