Student Visa Sponsorship Requirements?

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me? We are considering sponsoring 2 students (not related to each other or to us) from Haiti. What are the specific requirements for a sponsoring family? For example, are there income requirements or housing requirements? Also, how does health care work? If they become ill, would that be our obligation to pay for?

Thanks in advance for any information you can offer.

well everything is based on HOW much the school cost.. so you would have to find out how much the total of the school fee would be for the study period. I dont think anyone can give you an answer to this question. The decision is up to the local embassy (home country). if the person is here then he/she Must trave. back.. because there is a interview requirement.

You have to check I 20 form from the school to find out about the income requirement.Since students can work part time, most of the time the income requirements covers about 2 years of the tuition fees. Most students need also a school insurance. My daughter was sponsored by a US family and her school insurance covers most health care expenses.Hope this might help.

ok.. students who CAN work arent working students... this means at the time -of-the-interview overseas "the' student that can work isnt working so no help, for the person submitting the affidavit of support must meeet all the requirement What happens when the student who can work gets accepted into a school like say a community college tht doesnt have area for them to work like shops etc. With that being noted.. it's the same as petitioning a spouse, perent, child etc. they cannot work until they are here so while he/she will get immediate wrk approval with the GC/Visa the consulate/embassy does not factor this.... so the sponsor MUST meet the income requirement andget a co-sponsor if necessary.
