FBI's Rejection of Fingerprints

In reference to this topic: My link

Since the complete silence of our application made me so stressed, I called up USCIS and explained that we should have had a decision by now since it has already been 5 months since we filed for our application. The representative clearly explained that there are currently lots of applications being processed bla blah blah..he advised for us to give it another month and if still nothing will happen then i'll have to call again.

To my surprise, yesterday, I received a letter from USCIS asking me to report back to the local office for biometrics since the fingerprints taken the first time weren't accepted by FBI's system (maybe unclear or no prints came out). I was completely devastated!!!! It was never our fault that the person who took my fingerprints didn't get it correctly the first time.. now we are back to square 1. We have to wait and wait again for FBI to confirm acceptance of the fingerprints, otherwise, we have to submit clearances. Worse, we have to stay in line again and wait for another 3- 4 months..

Anyone who experienced the same thing, please feel free to give your brilliant advices. Is there any way to fasten the process? We can't afford to wait another 6 months for the gc to go through.. we are not even sure if there's going to be an rfe or what not... it might take a year for me to get my gc. So Sad :(

Tipically you are supposed to receive a new biometric appointment letter. I've heard about this before, and yes it might cause some delay in processing your case, but unfortunately there is nothing else you can do than following their instructions. I've had a slight different situation - we went to the AOS interview and they told us they couldn't approve us because they didn't have my I-485 biometrics! So I had to go after the interview, have my biometrics taken and wait about 6 more months to finally get a response. Good luck!! (F)

Some of these are OLD but I assure you that this does happen quite often. I hope these offer some insight for you and I hope you're able to get it fixed soon.

GOOD LUCK!
