Case numbers?

Is there a certain day of the week that case numbers are assigned? I talked to the operator Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and they still hadn't assigned the numbers for my in-laws. I have saw some places say Tuesday and others say Wednesday. Is there really only one day that they assign?

Now that my husband is a citizen, we are preparting documents to apply to bring his parents here.

04/24/10: I-130 package mailed

05/04/10: Notice Date

10/06/10: Approval Date

NVC

10/12/10: NVC Case# generated

10/22/10: Updated both email ids. DS-3032 e-mailed

10/26/10: IIN Received. AOS fee IN PROCESS. Emailed barcoded

10/30/10: AOS fee PAID, AOS package mailed

11/03/10: IV fee PAID, IV package mailed

12/07/10: RFE for I-864 Entered into System

12/13/10: RFE for DS-230 entered into system

No.. there is not a certin day Mon-Fri that case numbers are aggigned.. sometimes the case file stay in the system for 2-3 weeks before the files are opened and case numbers are assigned.

NVC received my file on 10/12 and assigned me a case number on 10/15. Hope this helps.

My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

11/29/10 - RFE response delivered to NVC

12/08/10 - RFE response entered into NVC system

12/15/10 - SIF :)

12/15/10 - Case Complete :)

01/03/11 - Interview date assigned for Feb 15 @ 1:30 PM

01/17/11 - Medical done ! Passed

01/25/11 - Re-scheduled the interview for Feb 1 @ 1:00 PM

02/01/11 - Interview @ 1:00 PM - Approved :)

02/03/11 - Visa picked up from USEM

02/12/11 - POE @ JFK

NVC received my files last week, they wont tell me what day. I have made 3 calls to try to confirm receipt date and case number:

Sure hope the act of asking doesnt get me blacklisted.

Call 1: nice woman said it can take 8 weeks, but generally it takes a few weeks to get the files and 1 week to turnaround after CA Svc Center.

Call 2: rabidly grumpy woman said it takes 8 weeks to turnaround. Dont need to call and ask I just need to learn how to wait.

Call 3: man robotically explained it will take 4-6 weeks to turnaround full stop. I tried to verify what I heard from Caller 1. Ma'am I said 4-6 weeks. It will take 4-6 weeks.

We got our case numbers yesterday!!! I know they had them before last wednesday. According to the lady yesterday who gave our numbers, they had received the case this monday

I got my text notice on 10/20 that our petition was approved on 10/18. On Thursday, 10/21, I called NVC never got through. I called DOS and was told that it wasn't in the system yet and that I should wait 4 weeks before I call back. I gave them til Monday. I called first thing this morning and the woman who answered gave me my case number and the date that it was received at NVC. I plan to call back in a few days to find out when they sent it on to the embassy.

7-30-07 - Met in Santa Marta, Colombia

9-19-08 - Engaged

7-13-10 - I-129F sent by USPS Expressmail to VSC;

10-18-10 - NOA2!!!!!!!!!! (Received in hand 10-22-10)

11-12-10 - Sent email to Embassy asking about petition; response "Petition rec'd; send in documents"; sent same day

11-24-10 - Called the Department of State; interview has been scheduled

11-29-10 - Package 3 received by beneficiary

01-19-11 - Interview - VISA APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!

01-27-11 - Passport received; visa in hand

02-08-11 - POE - Fort Lauderdale, Fla MISSED FLIGHT; 02-10-11 - POE second time's the charm. Easy POE. Welcome to the USA.

03-04-11 - Married

AOS

05-08-11 - Mailed out I-485, I-765 & I-131;

05-16-11 - Text & email msgs with Receipt Number

05-17-11 - Applied for Expedited AP as Victoria's mother was very ill; 05-18-11 - Picked up AP document

05-20-11 - Victoria returns to Colombia; NOA1 for all 3 forms arrive

06-03-11 - Text message "Case now updated"; RFE 06-07-11 - RFE arrives for 2010 Tax Return

06-08-11 - Text message "Case now updated"; Post Office returned a letter that was sent by USCIS; 06-09-11 - Issue resolved

06-14-11 - RFE response sent; 06-21-11 - Text message "Case now updated"; RFE response under review

06-29-11 - Text message "Case now updated"; Case transferred to CSC

08-30-11 - Victoria returns to US

08-31-11 - Biometrics done; Text message - "EAD Card Production ordered"

09-11 - Case transferred back from CSC

11-22-11 - Interview in Albany Field Office. AOS APPROVED.
