Biometrics walk in, is it worth trying?

Hi everyone,

I am a US citizen, my wife filed AOS. We got the biometrics very later ( around 1.5 months after filing). Our bio appt is on November 5th but I'd like to go there before to speed up the process.

Are people usually allowed biometric walk ins. When in the week and in the day should we go there? Could this cause a problem if my wife successfully does her biometrics walk in and therefore doesn't go at the initial appt date ( I am afraid they could think this is case abandonment)?

Adjusting from J1 Trainee visa:

August 25th, 2010: Filed AOS package to USCIS

August 27th, 2010: Package received by USCIS

September 2nd, 2010: Received I797 for I-130, I-485, I-765

October 14th, 2010: Received biometrics appointment letter (will be on Nov 5th)

AOS interview will be on January 13th, 2011!

January 13th, 2011: Approved at the day of the interview

Next step, removal of conditions

I forgot to mention, my bio appointment is in Chula Vista, CA

I am the US citizen, my wife is the applicant.

Adjusting from J1 Trainee visa:

August 25th, 2010: Filed AOS package to USCIS

August 27th, 2010: Package received by USCIS

September 2nd, 2010: Received I797 for I-130, I-485, I-765

October 14th, 2010: Received biometrics appointment letter (will be on Nov 5th)

AOS interview will be on January 13th, 2011!

January 13th, 2011: Approved at the day of the interview

Next step, removal of conditions

No problem. No issue trying. It will still register on the system as being completed. This is very different to an interview as they scan the barcode from the biometrics letter and that registers you as having attended.
