Colombiana married to Gringo

My wife and I have been married for over a year and I have been following this site and at times responding. The problem is I respond in English and never get a response. If you are interested in moving to America learn to speak some rudimentary English and appreciate those who respond to you. Over a year has passed but it's time I said something. There is a reason there is an international language...and it's not Spanish. A pilot flying from Bogotat to Egypt? English. Digo ambas lenguas. Give English a chance. No one will make fun of you. To my Colombian friends...chow...sorry, I could not resist.

Edited by Wayne and Claudia

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

Oh well,

First, I guess that English is your wife’s first language;

Second, If English isn’t her first language but Spanish, so I really hope she is going to read this post; and

Last, as you say that a Colombian got married to a ‘Gringo’, a ‘Gringo’ got married a Colombian as well. Do not forget that.

Why ambos lenguas and not ambas lenguas? My dictionary says lengua is a feminine noun and since ambos(as) is an adjective, I thought the adjective followed the gender (and number) of the noun.

Between words having gender and all the exceptions to the -o, -a rule (that, and the subjunctive mood and having two simple past tenses), I'm ready to put my head through the wall with this stuff. :bonk:

I just want to figure this Spanish thing out so I can sound more intelligent than the average 5 year old when I'm down here in Colombia. B-)

Never mind... I'm out!:ot2:

Bien dicho NArocks!
