Hi. I went to AOS interview today and the interviewer told us that my medical exam report was missing and she could not proceed to approve my green card.

I came here on K-1 visa and the original medical exam report was supposed to be in the package that the embassy gave me (at the interview for K-1).

And I have submitted the package to the immigration officer at the airport when I arrive to US.

Anyways, what she said was that my medical exam report is missing and I have to go to civil surgeon and get my report updated or get full medical again.

If I bring the vaccination report to civil surgeon, will they just give me I-693 completed without full medical check up??

In addition, she did not say they lost my document but does this usually happen????

Thank you for your advice in advance!

Try to contact the provider that did the original medical and see if they will forward another copy for a fee...

Well... I called the provider who did my medical in my home country but they said they cannot provide another original. However immigration asked for another original, i had to find civil surgeon to re-do my medical. I got a list and called many offices to find out which one was cheapest. (it was still 200 dollars though...)

Good luck!

My husband called his home country and they would not provide a second one either. I have no idea where to get a medical exam for 200 dollars!! The only civil surgeon in my city quoted me $1300. He said they need a chest xray, blood work, physical examination and more. How are they doing a chest xray and everything for less than 200?

I dont think everyone has to take chest x-ray. Your husband needs to take tuberculosis test first and if the result came out positive, he have to get x-ray taken. (Read the form that you have to take to civil surgeon) But if he was from Japan, he had to take vaccine when he was a child which result come out as positive.

I googled a lot and you also should post in this forum for cheap civil surgeon in CA. I found cheap one in Chinatown here...

Including X-ray, the cost was a little over 300 dollars in 2010. Of course the clinic was not as nice as usual place, the price matters!

I hope you can find cheap one...

Thanks for your advice.

I think they did the xray in morocco because his interview was the next day and they didnt have time for the tb test to develop on his arm.

For some reason when i called the civil surgeon in my city they also said they required xrays. I wonder why that is.

We live in wisconsin. I think my options are a little more limited unless I drive several hours, but i'm still working on it.
