I'm gonna turn into a real sour puss if it doesn't happen soon. I happy for everyone who doesn't wait as long as I have.....but I'm also getting really angry at my own having to wait so long. This is my second round, so it has really been a loooooong time for me. It really is affecting my marriage. I get mad at him about it sometimes...although I know it isn't his fault.

This was exactly how I felt. 170 days was too long. Don't get used to the long waits of doing nothing, though; you'll suddenly be approved and tossed into the whirlwind of NVC. Spend your angry energy now getting ALL you can ready for the NVC stage. I thought I was totally ready, but there were a few details I missed.

I'm so sorry to hear all that, we were getting impatient too with VSC and their policies. I'm rooting that you get your NOA within the next week by looking at your timeline, maybe even sooner!

We'll be here with you until you get your NOA2 - Keep us posted and good luck :)

I hit seventh month mark at the Vermont Service Center two days ago. I got off the phone today with U.S. Department of Homeland Security and was literally shaking. Somehow two months over their posted processing times is still not outside of their normal processing times. But hey " if we can do anything else to hurt you, i mean help you, please feel free to call back."

I am so angry at this point I don't really know where to turn. Tommorrow is Friday. Will it be just another week wasted over government incompetence or will I get another uplifting email from vermont service center?

"An additional 30 days must be allowed for adjudicative review and processing before we can request expeditious processing based on an ONPT request. If the application or petition is still pending after 30 days, and once we receive your formal request for expeditious processing, your case will be forwarded to the applicable adjudicative unit for expeditious handling." I have never heard anyone ever use the word expeditious in my whole life, but yet an agency that takes 7 months to process paper work has managed to use it three times in two sentences.

Oh yea I even got my congressman involved. They even gave them the same old stock reply. "if you don't here anything call us back in 30 days. Hmmm where have I heard that before. Lets see. 30days ago and then 30 days before that. Is there no accountability? They even jerk my congressman around.

So far I have missed my sons two year birthday and have not seen his mother or him in nine months. If I sound Bitter and angry, guess what I am.

Wow, that's absolutely ridiculous! I don't think I'll ever comprehend how they are able to make some couples suffer by over extending their wait, while approving others well before the 5 month mark. And to make matters worse they have the nerve to tell a person who has already waited 7 months to wait an additional 30 days?

I don't even know what to tell you except that you have every right to be angry. I'm posting a link that has instructions for how to contact the USCIS and the service centers and I believe there is another office to contact when the service centers don't help. Hope it can be useful to you.

Thank you for the sympathy. I went through this process about five years ago when my wife came here on a engagement visa and it was nothing like this. Much Much fster. Regrettably we did not marry at the time. Now we have married in Thailand and have a son together. Although he is a US citizen. they are both stuck in Thailand until his mom can get her visa. I am now putting my house on the market in case this keeps dragging on. I want to be prepared to do what ever it takes to be with my family even if it means going back to live in Thailand. Thanks for you support David
