Well another go around with the senator's assistant and I contacted my congressman(no answer yet) the senators assistant insisted we were in extended background and could take months to years..i was so upset..I called USCIS and said listen I need to know something and the lady was really nice and gave me to a tier 2 who was also really nice..the tier 2 said the senators assistant didnt know what she was talking about..we were not in any unusual background check and they don't even use the word extended for them..she said she thinks the senators assistant gave me that answer to blow me off..which was the only thing to make me laugh since thats what we say about them..she said to give them to the end of this month and then call for another service request..all i know is I have done everything possible at this point..sorry post so long and thanks for all of you guys and your support ..you are all awesome...

That's how it was with my congressman. I sent so many letters for a whole month and didn't hear a word from him until a week after my petition was approved. They called to inform me that they called on my behalf and were told my petition was approved. I'm grateful that they helped but I wish they would have done so when I asked, after having waited for 5 months.

If the tier 2 person says everything is fine with your petition then I would probably take their word for it. Hopefully you will get an approval soon!

Damn. I got an email saying that you replied to the thread and I was really hoping for your good news. Seems like the congress critters are as useful for this type of thing as they are at their official positions. *sigh* Hang in there, hang in there. We won't leave you behind.

I'm not sure if this may help you feel any better, but we filed about two weeks before you did and received our NOA2 about two weeks ago...I think your NOA2 is on its way :)

Vermont just likes to sit around and twiddle their thumbs a bit before they shuffle some papers around.

Good luck and keep us posted! :)

You might think it' easier to say so when one has been approved, but trust me, USCIS has made made me wait several time for a long time. If you have done everything right, everything will be fine. Things happen for a reason, even though sometimes makes no sense to us...so hang in there!!!
