Ahh, sorry for the grumpy post, I'm just tired and at the end of our 5 months so I'm extra stressed! I'm sure we'll get an approval here soon! This week could be our week!

at this point we are 6 months and 20 days since our application has been received by the vermont service center. The graciously have finally accepted my request for being outside on normal servicing times after the 6 month 2 week mark. Now they sent me this email (complete gibberish)

Processing times for specific applications and petitions at the Vermont Service Center (VSC) are provided on the www.uscis.gov website and are updated weekly. Based on fluctuations and variables that impact the processing times and for the purpose of interim or final adjudicative processing, the VSC allows 30 days beyond the posted date before the case is considered "Outside of Normal Processing Time" (ONPT).

An additional 30 days must be allowed for adjudicative review and processing before we can request expeditious processing based on an ONPT request. If the application or petition is still pending after 30 days, and once we receive your formal request for expeditious processing, your case will be forwarded to the applicable adjudicative unit for expeditious handling.

I have no Idea what this really means except That I was foolish for having faith in the process and putting this bunch of pathetic morons between my family and I.

called uscis myself incase like you all said and my Senators assistant was given stock answer. she told me that it was past processing times and she put in a service request for me (with out asking , im still in shock) she said my case didnt show any rfe or extended background so i dont know what to think now..how long for info from the service request anyone here know?..i hope i dont get it and it is extended background check...frustrated and sad...

Service requests are usually processed within 10 days, as I have been told, but they request that you give them up to 30 days.

I called USCIS this morning and was told CSC is now processing cases from Nov 16. Guess I will have to call again next week.

USCIS told me 30 days as well. This "Nov 16" answer is useless. It's obvious from VJ approvals that CSC has little to no rhyme or reason for which petitions they approve, and when. There are lots of unexpedited December approvals now, and lots of early November petitions that have not been approved. My priority date is November 7, and when I check WAC (or is that WACKY?) numbers preceding and succeeding my number, there are many hundreds of petitions for November 5, 7 & 8 that have not been decided. It's like they took a bunch of petitions from that timeframe and loaded them into a back room where only Edna works. Poor Edna...probably has walls of paperwork around her desk.

On April 26, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Finally. I'm still pissed though, ha ha.

Someone else on VJ got that same response. The way I see it is this:

On the USCIS website they state that VSC's current processing time is 5 months. Eventhough their processing time is 5 months they request an additional 30 days for adjudicative review and processing before they can request expeditious processing. Soooo, 5 months + 30 more days = 6 months.

I think that at this point your case most definitely qualifies for expeditious processing (which is probably why they accepted your service request).

Have you tried to contact your senator/congressperson?
