My guess is that you got a stock answer just to get you off the phone. When I check the WAC numbers ranging from 200 before mine, and 200 after (yes, I have OCD moments), I see a HUGE number of pending I-130 petitions. It's like there is a black hole into which a lot of November petitions have been sucked, out of sight, out of mind. I'll be calling USCIS today for the first time. Those lame asses have my money.

I hope you are right I emailed Senators liason again to see why we were in extended background, since low fraud country and neither of us have a criminal record, and my hubby never married before either. If was stock answer to her i hope it pokes them into looking into my case. they told her it had been reviewed but was now in extended background check and could take 3-6 months more. I hope we aren't in a fiasco like july/aug filers..this whole process is putting our lives on hold..I am so frustrated and upset... :crying: :crying:

Yesterday I did finally call the USCIS for the first time. I had put it off because I seriously doubt it will do any good...but I had some time to kill.

Result: the customer service rep told me everything I already knew...yes, it's past the 5 months, yes it's a petition for my wife, etc. Like what I've read others reported, the rep gave me a call number, or whatever, and told me that she would submit the inquiry. If I don't hear back in 30 (THIRTY!!!) days, I should just call again. What a Cluster$%#@

:D Checked status at work this morning and saw this:

"On April 21, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN."

I'm home at lunch now, the notification email came in at 1:45am. I'll call NVC twice a day starting Tuesday morning (Monday evening in U.S.) until I receive my NVC case number.

We're both very happy that things are finally progressing.

George

congrats george and good luck with nvc

I'm getting really concerned. I know this upcoming week is our 5-month mark, so I shouldn't be this absolutely stressed, but seeing folks on here who have gotten approvals who filed much later than us makes me feel like our application slipped through the cracks. I pre-emptively contacted my Senator to start the ball rolling in case it was lost/stuck in processing, that way I'm not waiting ANOTHER 30 days 1 month from now, but hopefully that was an excess of caution and un-needed. I'm really ready to begin the NVC process and have Anna over here.
