I am happy to stop by and report that we received our NOA2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NVC here we come! now i just gotta find the forum to help me along the way LOL...hoping for speedy approvals for ALL of you!!!!!!!!!!!

No movement at all so far this week? It seems like they tend to send more notices in the second half though I guess. It's my wife's birthday, so today would make for a good birthday present.

Yay!!!! Finally got out approval Email and text today, almost five months. Thanks to everyone on these forums for info, updates and advise. Now onto NVC...

First off, congratulations to all that received approvals!

So I called USCIS this morning and got an agent within seconds, the lady asked me a ton of irrelevant questions, then she asked for our case number, I told her and she kept saying "give me just a second" about 20 times because their computers are as slow as their employees...

Anywho, after all that, she said "wait a minute, are you the petitioner?" I said, no that's my husband, she asked where he was, I said work. She goes, then I cannot tell you this information...

ugh...if it's an approval, just tell me Edna!!!

I told him about this and he just called...then he rushed off to a meeting, so I'll have to wait until he's done to know what's going on lol.

Did anyone ever receive updates in the mail while waiting for your I-130 to be approved??? Or are updates the "touches"?

Lbjr, I think the updates are the "touches". I haven't seen anyone post that they received an email with an update on their status unless it was to inform them of an approval/denial/RFE.

Did you tell them that you are the beneficiary? I feel like as the beneficiary you should be entitled to call and receive any information relative to the petition at hand, especially being that this petition will be what will ultimately either grant or deny you the ability to apply for an IR-1/CR-1 visa.

Lbjr, I think the updates are the "touches". I haven't seen anyone post that they received an email with an update on their status unless it was to inform them of an approval/denial/RFE.

Did you tell them that you are the beneficiary? I feel like as the beneficiary you should be entitled to call and receive any information relative to the petition at hand, especially being that this petition will be what will ultimately either grant or deny you the ability to apply for an IR-1/CR-1 visa.

The agent told my husband that they send out updates, so I have no idea what she means by that...and yes, I did mention that I am the beneficiary. The agent that I spoke with told me that they cannot provide any information to beneficiaries, only petitioners and case reps or lawyers. I didn't even want to get into it with the monotone agent, I felt like she was just reading off a script...exactly what you would read when you check your case updates. I just hung up with her quickly and had my husband call.

I spoke to him earlier and he said that VSC is still processing Sept. 25th applications and she is sending VSC an update request to see what is going on with our application. He also said that the lady told him we should've received updates in the mail, if so...our last "touch" was in november shortly after we filed.

It doesn't make any sense since that was what an agent told him a few weeks ago too (Sept. 25th date). I read somewhere that the agents receive updates from the service centers every 14th/15th of the month? Is that true if anyone can confirm? If so, I'll have him call again tomorrow, or the following day.

There was something else I was going to say, but I'm not sure I'm understanding the issue that lbjr is having (other than the frustration at not being able to get an answer about the petition, that came through loud and clear) so I'll do the prudent thing and hush.

Oh, sorry if my post was confusing.

Initially, I had called USCIS to see what was going on with our case since it has been 5 and a half months. The agent that I spoke with didn't want to tell me anything over the phone because my husband wasn't with me and they cannot disclose any information with the beneficiary (me). I had my husband call and the agent he spoke with told him that we should have received updates in the mail, I was confused by this because from all of the threads that I've read, no one received anything for updates, you have to manually check yourself (case updates). Also, the agent he spoke with told him that VSC was still processing September 25th applications, it's the same answer that he was told when we called about two weeks earlier.

I just wanted someone to confirm that USCIS receive updates in their system from the service centers about once a month, if that's the case, then I'll have my husband call again tomorrow or the following day.
