Basically I intend now to pester the out of anybody and everybody until this gets done. Whether or not it affects speedier action from the USCIS or not, at least I get to vent some steam that's built up over 5 months.

This process is so disappointing and there are so many cracks in the system. I feel like every step that I take trying to progress only leads me to a brick wall.

I'm making my fourth trip to visit my husband since we filed our petition. It's the only thing that's keeping me sane for the time being but I can't afford to make another trip unless it's for the interview.

I'm going to have to find the energy to keep fighting from somewhere because I refuse to continue to wait like this for months on end. It's gotten to the point where I'm starting to think my petition was lost or discarded but until their stupid system says VSC is working on petitions filed Oct 12th or later there seems to be no way for me to find out.

Are we getting what we paid for? I loathe and despise how most government agencies are operated. Because they have no competition, as do private companies, they can take your fees and then blow you off, blow off deadlines, blow off any idea of more efficient work flow.... Just remember this experience next time you vote for a candidate who supports any kind of government-controlled anything. Health care comes to mind.

If the immigration process were privatized, a company would FIND ways to make money, satisfy customers, and stave off competitive bids from other companies. But then again, now that I think about it, a candidate also might have some private interest in that company. Halliburton comes to mind. Okay, off my soap box now. Vote accordingly.

I think that's what bothers me the most. The fact that I had to pay so much money for lowsy customer service. Every time I call the rep just plugs in my receipt # into the uscis website and gives me the same info I can find by myself. It's like a slap to the face. And on top of it all they have the nerve to say that their system won't let them put in a service request unless the service center has already started to process petitions received on or after the date on your receipt but they only update this system once a month! What good is that? What if I call on the 14th and they tell me they are only up to Oct 11th? That means I'll have to wait another month just to try to put in a service request, which doesn't guarantee that they'll look at my petition!

I've expressed all of this in the letters I wrote but who know if they've been read. I think my points are valid and I don't see why they can't help me.

Well, let me stop ranting now, lol. Everyone here already knows all of this because I'm sure many are living it. The people who need to hear about this and do something about it choose to ignore us.

I hear you, that's how we feel too. I feel like my husband has "given up" on calling or hasseling them. He said that we are almost at our 6 months, things should be moving along soon...I agree, but at the same time, we should be treated fairly amongst all the service locations. It's quite bs that couples who filed way after we have are being approved at a much more reasonable time. Also, trying to get a hold of them is like pulling teeth, they make you go through hoops and obstacles to speak to someone with valuable information that you don't already know. We have about 2 weeks left until we reach the 6 month mark.

Have you had any luck with the congressman/senator/etc?

No. I've been trying to contact my congressperson but now I'm going to try the senator. Hopefully that will prove to be more fruitful.

On a lighter note, any approvals today? Things seem kind of slow but I guess it's because it's the beginning of the week...
