Yes, it looks like they averted it. Nobody would have wanted to take the blame for that anyway, so I'm not surprised. But the good folks at the USCIS should all be dutifully at their desks on Monday morning. Hopefully they'll be ready to crank out some approvals next week.

They officially just passed a 1 week extension a couple of minutes ago to keep the government running and they'll be passing a long-term financing plan next week.

today i got my I 130 Approved from vermont service center after 5 months 5 days ON USCIS Website(NOA2)Waiting for hard copy,now can any body please say how much time it will take for NVC?!!!!!

It looks like they are done playing their games and a deal is done. Probably made some delays with all the federal workers reading the news about whether they will get paid next week though. That would at least explain the slow week after such a good week last week.

Getting close to that 5 month mark and I am really exhausted with this waiting around trying to be patient. I have no idea how the Fiasco people made it through this @#$!.

yeah i agree i dont see how they had the patience for that either..im like sarah 101 ive thought about just moving to albania but my husband said give it a couple more weeks ...they put our lives on hold and dont care...

I never thought i will panic so much but seeing approvals dated noa1 after us , makes me wonder if they are playing with our feelings :/ I always hope that i will get approval existing week but turns out i didnt. you are with your hubby, and my hubby is so lazy i wonder how he will do with nvc stage where we need to be proactive.

I know, I am also puzzled, I don't even have another touch after 3/17. My wife is also getting really pissed about the situation. Let's hope Monday is a good day for all of us.

I was taking it easy until today and now i am pissed as well and i have asked my husband to call uscis and inquire. will keep you updated

Congrats on your approval! NVC processing time is really largely driven by YOU, so if you haven't already, take a look at Loto's guide and start getting your documents together for the Affidavit of Support (filled out by petitioner and cosponsor if necessary) and the actual visa application (filled out by beneficiary).

Giamimigio was correct in the 2 weeks; however, most seem to get through in another 2 months, depending on your level of preparedness. I'm not sure if they're counting the time it takes to assign a NVC case number in that time (I got mine in 10 business days) or not, though.

All the rest of you waiting on your approvals - I am crossing my fingers for you and doing luck dances! :dance:

Yeah, and don't forget that they also accepted your money. They seem to be able do that pretty quickly.

i noticed that too..so frustrating i hope this week proves to be the week for the rest of us to be approved...i hope your husband is proactive i have all my papers done for nvc because i thought i would get approved before now..

Burebista, yes I have tried to contact my congressperson. I've sent letters via snail mail, his website, and via fax. I have not heard back from him at all though. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow to check and see if they received my privacy release form and all the letters I've sent.

My plan is to escalate to one of my senators within a week if I don't hear back from my Member of Congress. Then...I'll switch to my other senator. We'll see if Republic or Democrat responds better, since my state has one from each party.
