i thought i'd take a peak at the timeline on this site and it said between the 6th and 13th. not too shabby. still within the 5 month window. i've prepared myself to do the whole 5 months and change :thumbs:

I agree... it needs to be added to the NVC wiki page as a link. It was the first guide that truly fit my situation and was concise and thorough. Kudos to Saylin for writing it up!

NVC Stage

04-01-11: NVC Case Number Assigned/Sent Opt-in Email

04-05-11: Paid AOS Fee ($88) and got confirmation of OPTIN

04-09-11: Sent AOS package (I-864 and supporting documents)

04-11-11: Paid IV Fee ($404) and Choice of Agent confirmed and AOS package confirmed received

05-02-11: DS-260 filled out and submitted

05-06-11: Sent DS-260 Supporting Documents

06-07-11: Case Complete!!

(70 days in NVC)

Medical and Interview

I called customer service today since we're 1 day outside of the 5 months window at the CSC. Apparently there's a 20 day backlog so they can't issue a service request for almost another 3 weeks. We did get an RFE over the weekend for a copy of the marriage certificate since only the record of solemnization of marriage was submitted, which was easy enough to respond to first thing on Monday, but they're not even showing that the RFE was sent in the first place, just that the case has been in review since the beginning of November. The website isn't updated for the RFE, we never got the original NOA1, and no emails or texts have been sent as the case was touched. How many cracks are there in the system?

Guys, if it was me and the phone operators were telling me to wait, I would just ignore them! I found (from reading the CSC-TSC thread) that if you call and get another operator, they might say something completely different!!

Has the CSC slowed down this week, don't see any approvals for this week. IS the federal budget deadlock and possible government causing USCIS to already shutter part of their operation? I am getting anxious about the budget and USCIS/NVC processing. Does anyone have any ideas about what is happening?
