October/November 2010 Immigrant Visa filers (CR-1/IR-1)

So I have a question! On the NOA1, there is a priority date and another date. Which one do we go by for the 5 month mark? I ask because hubby lost original NOA1 (grr) and we requested another.

He has received the new one, which has a priority date of 18/11/10, but the other date is 23/02/11-the date he requested a new one

(also having major panic that this has reset our NOA1 date to just a few weeks ago!!)

I don't think you should worry. I think the first date is the date they received your petition, and the second is when they sent the notice.

still waiting on our NOA2 ughhhh......our 5 month deadline is next friday......praying it happens before then.....and if it doesnt what happens??? i know i call USCIS but from there what will they do????

call your congressman and senator after 5 months ...they can atleast look into it for you..of course they might get the "we're processing it and wait so many days" routine answer but most ppl agree because of the fiasco with csc-tsc-csc transfers not to wait 6 months to contact them..good luck..i am seeing Oct filers getting approved so hopefully nov in the next couple weeks..so hard to stay optimistic though..

Still patiently waiting.... I see the 5 month mark approaching and just pray that I'm one of the lucky ones who won't have to start making phone calls. For me it's not a matter of "missing" my husband, but rather, his presence and contribution to our family is missing and life as a (psuedo)single mother is getting harder and harder. I can handle the workload, and get through the days, but the emotional and physical support is missing right now and it weighs heavily on my heart. I am stressed, short-tempered, and tired and he wants so badly to help, and can't because we are doing things "the right way." My children are growing up without a father figure which I feel is so important for them. Only a few years before the first one leaves home, and he's missing out on great bonding time with my husband. I know we aren't the only ones, but I just hope that this first hurdle is over soon.

Hope to see approvals as the week moves along.
