That's pretty much what I do...drive myself crazy checking the status everyday, yearning for a "touch". It's only been a month but somehow it feels like decades....I definitely need to find something to occupy my mind with.

Don't get hung up waiting for a touch. I never got one. Spend your time researching AOS and DS-230 making sure you have everything ready when your NOA-2 comes. Start working on your evidence for your interview. It doesn't totally take your mind off of the waiting but it does help a bit.

Those were my thoughts exactly about a month ago, right after I filed. I knew I wouldn't be able to just sit there and wait for an approval so I started doing my research on what the next steps would be, which led me to this website. I read the guides regarding a speedy NVC stage and since then I've pretty much filled out all of the forms (Choice of Agent, AOS and DS-230) and gathered all of the accompanying paperwork (give or take a few items). I'm also trying to come up with more evidence of a bonafide relationship to add to what I already have (better to have too much than too little). I've practically run out of things to do to distract me from the wait so I've gone back to stalking my portfolio for any "touches".

I guess I'll just keep double and triple checking everything I do have and make sure I'm not missing anything. Thanks for the advice though  At this point I'll take any I can get

Yes, we got our NOA1 dated November 7, 2010. No touches yet, which I consider a good sign (I've read that touches can sometimes mean a Request For Evidence could be coming).

Yes touches do not really mean anything. Mine has not been touched since two days after i got NOA 2 pretty sure that was just them putting everything in system to get background check ect. If they do a FBI background check those take 6 weeks to even hear back anyways. I know I filed for one it took every bit of the 6 weeks to get it. Anyways i am at almost two months without touches, but i have seen a slew of septembers getting thier NOA2's so hoping maybe middle to end of January :)

Yeah, I began to wonder why everybody gets excited about "touches". They are like luck...you can have good luck, or bad. I'd prefer to see as few touches as possible.

Guys ask someone whose receipt number doesn't work on the website that getting touched or under initial review means a lot. Its not like some stupid clerk forgot to put in your file in the system which is probably whats happening to a handful of us here. So be thankful for the little blessings you have and stop speculating.

well I feel a lot better after this rant..

They don't necessarily mean anything, but they are at least a friendly reminder that your file still exists at USCIS, that it isn't lost in the system, that SOMEbody is doing SOMEthing. It's a reassuring feeling, even if it is purely psychological.

I totally agree! Using the webcam used to feel like "enough" before we met in person but after sharing some face-to-face time the webcam image just seems like a mediocre substitution.

Happy holidays and best wishes to you and every other person in our situation. I'm truly hopefull that all of our spouses will be here in the states next year (though I sure could use someone to cuddle with during these long cold winter months :P )

yes exactly thats what it feels like a mediocre substitution...I could use someone too for the cold months..I wonder if the uscis cares about our suffering..lol..my reciept number doesnt work either so that hasnt helped me..:(..i was afraid they lost our case so i called and they said maybe two months to be able to see online..:o..
