No the w-7 is what gets the USC to be able to file married on tax return. ... Just send all orginal NSO documents and passport copy by dfa official. If your spouse is from philippines anyways.

Thanks :) and yes sir my husband and i are filipino. i read from another thread about the w-7 and i've done a couple hour research about it prior to visiting vj. when u mention PASSPORT COPY BY THE DFA OFFICIAL, do u literally mean, going into DFA office and requesting for a "passport copy". i'd have to give details to my husband on how to attain a passport copy so if u can please elaborate on the DFA procedure i'd greatly appreciate it :D

Yes exactly. But they still gave me a hard time. Also be sure to include a copy of the passport bio page. The best thing to do is have it notarized by an american notary like at US embassy if possible.

You will need a passport sized photo to take in for official copy and pay a fee i forget how much i think between 100 to 400 pesos. Just tell officer you need official copy for US paperwork.

@TheHeub's: It will take a while before you book your medical - it's approximately 5 months to get through the USCIS stage, plus likely another 5 months to get to the interview. You don't want to book too soon, as the medical is only good for a year, and those approximate times above do NOT include RFE (request for evidence) delays. I'm not sure what notifications you as the foreign spouse get, someone else may be able to help you there.

@AmyandNick: Yay, you got your NOA1! Hooray! :star:

@marjus'girl: Hi there! Nice to see you here :) Welcome to the 'are you done yet?' madness.

Thanks for the hello....yes its not been a month yet and i think im going crazy..lol:) I did call uscis because my receipt number wont work for the online or phone..the guy told me it could take up to two months for it to be registered and I could track our progress..anyone else having this...hopefully we all can check our progress and support each other...

Yeah, mine has been working fine since the day after I got the email notification. It probably won't take two months though. I guess you got the noob entering your document into the system or something. :( Maybe after it arrives at CSC it will finally show up. Should be soon for that.

That being said, there isn't much to track. The only thing it says is 'initial review' and if you create an account, you can see the date update so you know it was 'touched'. But you don't have any indication what they did with it when they touched it so...

Jan-2009 - Met online

Mar-2009 - Became a couple

Sep-2009 - Met in person (2 weeks in Jakarta)

Jan-2010 - Denied B1 visa

Mar-2010 - Engaged

Oct-2010 - Married

Nov-2010 - Filed I-130

Hey Marjus's girl. My receipt no. is also not working and I received mine on 12 Oct. Unfortunately we are in the same boat. Hopefully they update their website soon. I am just dying to have a look at the page that says "touched" or "under initial review".I am now getting obsessed with the checking it twice a day. I know its not healthy but its so hard not to check. Well lets stick together and ride this one out. hopefully your page updates soon. Good luck.

"touched" is basically the last time your application was updated according to the site. you can see that when you click my portfolio

as for the change of address, there's a tab on the left side. it shows you the steps to take for the non-u.s. citizen.

hope that helps.
