It shows an anti-incumbency trend (for example, one seat in LA and in WA where the incumbent is Rebublican, are leaning Democrat) , which makes sense under the current economic circumstances.

A simple majority in the House will mean nothing to the party of obstructionists, and nothing will get accomplished outside of bipartisan legislation, which is highly unlikely as they don't know the meaning of compromise. So if the economy continues to limp along two years from now, according to their blame-game logic, they will then be part of the problem. A midterm victory which gives them no real power and this is something to be giddy about?

I will be very pleased if the government does nothing.

Already tried that and it resulted in the 2007 financial crisis, not to mention the $17 trillion dollars cost to American households. Americans would have to be as dumb as dog ###### to allow this to occur to themselves - yet again.

Cannot say there has been many times we have agreed but you are spot on there.

I had forgotten about the farm subsidies. Reminds me of a person in NC, who is part of some group that spends up big on commercials against big-government and spending, yet receives $1 million in farm subsidies herself a year.

The crickets one hears when you mention military expenditure, especially private contractors, illustrates that it's where the money is spent that is the issue.

Personal story: I grew up on a dairy in Texas and my dad shut us down the day AMPI (American Milk Produceris Inc,) offered him more money for his milk to go sour than to pump it in their truck. He swapped over to pure bred angus and now that's commercialized but fortuneately he can relax.

Hercales...jaws died and Mythbusters proved the stunts were not real. Kill all subsidies...ALLLLLLL and do it now.

I have said all along, GOP winning probably equates to Obama getting another term, as the GOP stops his Leftwing agenda... he starts to look "not so bad".

For this reason I don't want a GOP take over of the Senate.
