DS-156K Question

'nother quick question if you can help me please...

The DS-156K form says it must be sent off together with the police certificate, however the instructions say that the form (DS-156K) should be returned straight away. I only just sent off for the police certificate though. Do I have to wait to send the form back to them or not?

Thanks.

I hestitate to answer definitively since each Consulate has different requirements... your best bet it to phone them and ask just to be sure.

If you just requested your police record from the UK, I'm sorry to say that you're going to be waiting a while. We were told that it took 40 days, so David requested his during the first week of July. He only received it last week... it really does take that long.

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

The posts were moved because now that the K1 has been approved by the USCIS, packet 3 questions should be placed in the Foreign Embassy & Consulate Forum.

As far as our DS-156K goes (Frankfurt), our cover letter specifically states that the supporting documentation for the forms should be brought to the interview and not mailed with the checklist.
